If you were hoping to use the Genie+ service today, sorry you are out of luck!
As we predicted yesterday, this week at Walt Disney World is looking to be incredibly busy. An incredible lineup of openings and premieres this week has made it a very desirable time to go to the Parks, but it also means that crowds are going to be large. When visiting the Parks during a busy time like this, it is essential that you plan your day to be as efficient as possible. More Guests mean longer lines for all attractions, which is why many Guests opt to use the Genie+ service.
Using the Genie+ service allows Guests to book individual lightning lanes, which ensures that you can ride your favorite rides despite the crowds. Unfortunately, Guests visiting the Park today, April 3, will not be able to use the Genie Plus service because it is now unavailable. To make things worse, it will likely be unavailable tomorrow as well.
Guests Out of Luck Getting Genie+
For the first time in a while, the Genie+ service has sold out at Walt Disney World Resort. The service is unavailable in Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is likely due to the massive amounts of people who are visiting the Parks today to see the opening night for the new and improved nighttime spectacular, “Happily Ever After.”
While Genie+ has sold out in the past, today’s sell-out was the fastest Walt Disney World has ever seen.
According to Park reporter Scott Gustin, Genie+ sold out before 12pm ET, beating the previous record made on February 19 when it sold out at 12:45 pm ET.
Genie+ was marked sold out shortly before Noon ET – which is the earliest sellout at WDW. Previously it was Feb. 19 (12:45 pm ET).

This can be a huge inconvenience for Guests visiting the Parks. Unfortunately, the service will likely sell out tomorrow as well. This is because tomorrow is the opening of the TRON Lightcycle/Run attraction at Magic Kingdom. If you are visiting the Parks this week and want to use Genie Plus, be sure to purchase it as early as you can.
