Disney Took 30 Months To Fix a Collapsed Building, and Now It’s Falling Apart Again

A merchandise location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is showing signs of damage again, more than 30 months after a collapse that narrowly missed Walt Disney World Resort guests.

The Keystone Clothiers building on Hollywood Boulevard had its sign and doorway fall off on September 26, 2022, during park hours, but thankfully, no guests were under the doorway when it collapsed. Jason (@ozborn82), a guest visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios that day, shared a photo of the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter), showing part of the storefront broken off:

Construction walls went up in the days after the collapse, preventing guests from entering the store through the damaged entrance. However, it wasn’t until more than a year later that Walt Disney World Resort began repairs on the building. When they did, crews installed green-painted plywood as a temporary fix and removed the construction walls. This solution drew criticism from some Disney Parks fans, who called it a “Six Flags” fix.

In February 2025, construction walls returned around the entrance of Keystone Clothiers as Disney began a more extensive repair of the collapsed area. The updated work includes faux stone archways and golden ornamentation designed to match the building’s style. However, as reported by BlogMickey, some of the new features are already showing signs of damage.

Specifically, the green marbled stone film applied to the top of the doorway appears to be bubbling, possibly due to incorrect installation or materials that don’t hold up against Florida’s intense heat. Photos also reveal visible holes in the archway, likely from ornamentation that was added and quickly removed.

Despite these ongoing issues, Keystone Clothiers remains open to guests, with alternative entrances available for those wishing to shop. The store offers a variety of merchandise, including clothing inspired by Star Wars and Marvel Studios.
