Many significant changes are happening at Walt Disney World Resort.
Known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” Walt Disney World Resort brings in Guests, both young and young at heart from all over the world each and every year. While there are plenty of classic and iconic attractions that are cornerstones at Disney World, there are also many new attractions and updates that happen in the theme parks, as well.
Currently, many Disney Park fans have been focused on the construction taking place at Magic Kingdom Park. TRON Lightcycle / Run just opened this past April and is still only available through Virtual Queue or through Individual Lightning Lane purchase, both of which can be accessed on the My Disney Experience app. In addition, Disney permanently closed down Splash Mountain in Frontierland to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which will be open in “late 2024.” If that weren’t enough, Disney has also teased a major expansion, called “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” which has been rumored to be potentially themed to Encanto, Coco, or even Disney Villains.
That’s not all that’s happening at Walt Disney World Resort, though.
One of the biggest places under construction right now in Disney World is none other than EPCOT. EPCOT just opened Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in May of 2022. The attraction, which bills itself as a “story coaster,” is unlike anything we’ve ever seen at Disney World. For now, you still must access it through either Virtual Queue or an Individual Lightning Lane pass. But that’s only part of what’s happening at EPCOT right now.
One of the biggest construction projects still taking place at EPCOT currently is right in the middle of the theme park, called World Celebration. Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the land will open and it remains under construction indefinitely.
Twitter account @bioreconstruct recently shared a photo of the construction happening in the area, where we can see some major developments.

When opened, World Celebration will be home to Dreamers Point, an interactive experience that will be home to a statue of Walt Disney himself. In addition, construction remains in place on Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, which will be part of World Nature.
For now, however, if you’re heading to EPCOT, you’ll have to deal with the construction walls that have been in place for the last couple of years. Though we can see from this picture that Disney has made progress, it’s clear that there’s still more work to be done before the land is ready to welcome Disney World Guests.
