It’s worth noting that many fans were disappointed when the Walt Disney Company first revealed specific details regarding the attraction’s New Orleans-based storyline. Fans didn’t want a new cast of characters, they wanted the beloved characters they already knew, including The Princess and the Frog (2009)’s charming villain, Dr. Facilier.

Once it was confirmed that this character would not make an appearance in the attraction due to the storyline, which takes place after the film, fans were in an uproar. However, maybe this news will regain their excitement: Mama Odie will make a grand appearance in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
And she’s not the only character coming to the Splash Mountain retheme.

The Walt Disney Company has just confirmed that “familiar faces from the film such as Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Mama Odie, Louis, Eudora, Charlotte, “Big Daddy,” the King and Queen of Maldonia and Prince Ralphie” would be present in the attraction, many of which will be voiced by their original actors and actresses. Specifically, Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana, Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, and Michael Leon Wooley as Louis.
Alongside these familiar faces will be a new cast consisting of original Disney characters “with distinct names and personalities.” And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction without some “adorable critters with incredible talent.”
The upcoming attraction will also feature new music and fan-favorite songs from the original film. Most exciting, the Walt Disney Company has also confirmed that “the alluring scent of beignets being prepared for the party will be part of the attraction queue.”
But the best news from this massive update is that Disney will stray from its current trend of using screens, opting for “dozens of entirely new Audio-Animatronics figures” crafted by Disney Imagineers instead.
NEW: Disney shared new artwork of Mama Odie in Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Disney confirmed the ride will have "dozens of new Audio-Animatronics" when it opens at WDW and DLR in 2024.
