We are so excited because Miguel is here to stay! Of all the underrepresented movies in Disney’s vast catalog, without a doubt, the one we wanted more of was Coco! Until now, Miguel and his familia have only ever been temporary fixtures in the Parks. EPCOT has Remember Me!’ La Celebración del Día de Muertos as a temporary exhibit inside the Mexico Pavilion, and during Halloween in 2017, Disneyland Paris had a Coco overlay inside of its Mexican/Southwestern restaurant, Fuente del Oro Restaurante, but there has been no permanent Coco presence in the Parks.
That will soon change. It was just announced that the Coco overlay at Fuente del Oro Restaurante will return…permanently! The quick service location has been closed for refurbishment for quite some time, and now we know why! The restaurant will reopen as Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia!
Disney has just released concept art for the new restaurant (pictured up top), and we are chomping at the bit to experience it in person! The restaurant will retain its former Adobe styling with key updates to transform it into an eatery that is both fanciful and stylish. Situated near Big Thunder Mountian, the concept art keeps with the theming of Frontierland. In fact, the concept art gives us Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn vibes.

Disneyland Paris, more than any other Disney Park, has really leaned into the Pixar films making it one of the most unique Disney Parks in the world. Rather than simply a clone of the other Parks, Disneyland Paris has its own identity, and Coco will fit perfectly here. No opening date has been announced. Disney only said Casa de Coco will be open “this summer.” Before this announcement, reports stated the restaurant would reopen by June. That certainly keeps in line with Disney’s projected summer opening, but time will tell if the retheme has pushed this back or not.
