Disney World Is About to Make Some Changes to Its Beloved Monorail System
For many, the Disney Monorail is one of the most exciting parts of a Disney vacation. After all, it’s the first attraction many guests ride as they arrive at the Disney Park. That kind of anticipation just can’t be beat!

While visiting Walt Disney World Resort, guests can experience the monorail while staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
These marvels of transportation take guests to and from Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. On Walt Disney World Resort’s official website reads, “The EPCOT Monorail and the Express Monorail originate at the [Transportation and Ticket Center] TTC and offer express round-trip service to EPCOT and Magic Kingdom park.”

Although the Disney Monorail is an iconic part of Walt Disney World Resort, it’s not immune to a little controversy and infamy. Some guests have reported mold and unpleasant smells while riding Disney’s ancient transportation system.
Not only that, but many guests feel that the transportation system is outdated and desperately needs updates.
The Walt Disney Company must have felt the same way because a series of refurbishments was announced in 2019, and reportedly finished in 2022.
But those aren’t the only changes coming.

According to a new report, Disney World’s Monorail Green Line is going to undergo some refurbishments soon, even shutting down to receive new paint jobs. The Disney Monorail Green Line may be receiving some new refurbishments in addition to the new paint, but at this point, it’s anyone’s guess as to what it’ll be.
