Do you have plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort in the near future? If so, you’ll want to take note that along with other January 2022 refurbishments, the Disney Skyliner is scheduled to close soon.
In September 2019, Walt Disney World Guests were welcomed to enjoy the newest Disney form of transportation, the Disney Skyliner. While we’re big fans of other forms of Disney transportation including the Monorail, buses, and boats, the Skyliner became a favorite as the gondolas glide above Disney’s property, boasting stunning views.
Of course, anything new doesn’t come without I few issues. We can remember seeing a couple of times where the Skyliner carts bumped into another, creating a mess and temporary closure – but thankfully, no reported injuries.

Disney’s Skyliner takes Guests at select Disney Resorts to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Resort Guests or simply visiting Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you can hop onboard free of charge to reach your next destination.
While we usually recommend a Disney Skyliner Food Crawl (or beverage crawl!) to Resort hop and enjoy the views, you’ll want to put those plans on hold next week, as Guests planning to use the Skyliner transportation will want to be aware of the scheduled refurbishment.
According to Disney, Disney Skyliner Refurbishment will take place from January 23 through January 28, 2022. The Disney Skyliner service between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and EPCOT will be out of operation due to refurbishment.
The good news is if you are staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach or Riviera Resort, Disney will offer alternative bus transportation to and from EPCOT.
