Calling all Walt Disney World Resort Guests! We previously shared the news that Disney has removed the former “Extra Magic Hours”. Beginning October 1, Walt Disney World is introducing a new experience for all Disney Resorts Guests. Resort Guests will have a chance to experience the new “Early Theme Park Entry”. This new perk will allow all Disney Resorts Guests a jump-start their day inside the Park with a 30-minute early entry to ANY theme Park, EVERY day. Following the pause of the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue, Disney has made an update to the list of attractions included in Early Access.

On September 23, Rise of the Resistance officially went from being a virtual boarding group experience to offer a standby queue only. The change brought crowds to Disney’s Hollywood Studio where Guests awaited the chance to ride the attraction without the need for a Resistance boarding group. Well, now it seems that Resort Guests are being offered a chance to bypass the large gathering and head directly to the Resistance ride before other non-resort Guests who will have to wait for the official Park opening.
Walt Disney World’s website of attractions operating during the Early Access now includes the popular Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This means you’ll have a chance to bypass the large rope drop crowd to be one of the first in line for Rise of the Resistance. Check out the full list of Disney Park attractions that will be operating during the Early Access below.

Of course, we aren’t sure when Disney plans to return the virtual queue system to ride Rise of the Resistance, as they have noted it is on a “pause”. We suspect they are trying to work out possibly Lightning Lane details as they prepare to unleash the Disney Genie.
You’ll also want to keep in mind that if you’re staying at one of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts – you’ll have even more time to enjoy the Park. Deluxe Resort Guests are eligible to spend TWO extra hours in select Parks on select days. This new perk is called “Extended Evening Theme Park Hours“ and is only available to Disney Resort Guests staying at select Deluxe Resorts. Happy planning, Disney fans!
