This weekend, the world will be introduced to the new movie Haunted Mansion (2023). The Disney film is based on the classic Disneyland Park attraction of the same name.

The attraction contains iconic Disney lines, audio-animatronics, and special effects, and decades later is still one of the most popular rides at Disneyland (and the Magic Kingdom Park). Among the many unique characters featured in the mansion (and in the movie) are Madame Leota, Constance Hatchaway, and the Hatbox Ghost. The role of the sinister Hatbox Ghost (coming to the Magic Kingdom Haunted Mansion this year) is played by Jared Leto.

To coincide with the rollout of the new movie, Disneyland is releasing a Hatbox Ghost sipper. Beginning July 28, it will be available at select Disneyland locations.
Disney Eats shared an incredible video of the sipper on its Instagram page.
For Walt Disney World Resort fans unfamiliar with the Hatbox Ghost, he is a unique Haunted Mansion character with a long history. He was part of the original attraction when it debuted in Disneyland in 1969. However, due to problems with the special effects, he was removed from the ride not long after it opened. But after die-hard Disney fans pleaded for decades, Disney Parks brought him back to Disneyland in 2015. What does he do exactly? The ghoulish creature holds a hatbox in his hand, and as his head vanishes – it reappears in the box.
His undying popularity among Disney fans has not only caused the Walt Disney Company to make plans to bring the character to Magic Kingdom Park but also incorporated him into the Haunted Mansion (2023) movie directed by Justin Simien.
