Nowadays, visiting Walt Disney World is something akin to an Olympic sport with all of the time and energy it takes.
There’s planning the trip itself, picking out the perfect Walt Disney World Resort hotel to stay at, picking out which Disney Park to visit, and most importantly, when to get there.
Visiting Walt Disney World Is a Herculean Task, as Far as We’re Concerned…
Each Disney Park is different, which means that visiting each Disney Park needs to be planned slightly differently. Some theme park experiences are going to be a little more hectic than others.
For example, arriving at EPCOT at 10 a.m. is totally different from arriving at Magic Kingdom at 10 a.m.
If you’re visiting Animal Kingdom soon and you’re still figuring out the best times to visit and leave the theme park, we’ve got the perfect advice for you!
Here’s When to Arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park typically opens at 8 a.m., but the theme park also opens at 9 a.m. from time to time. This means that Guests visiting can enter the theme park as early as 7:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. depending on the day.
We’d like to mention that arriving as early as possible is usually the best course of action, especially if you’re trying to beat the crowds for big-ticket attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage or the Na’vi River Journey.
One of the Best Things About Animal Kingdom…
You don’t have to be at the Park’s entrance right at opening time if you don’t want to. In fact, as long as you show up before the morning turns into the afternoon, you can still experience your favorite attractions.
Want to Know the Best Time to Leave the Theme Park?
Regardless of the time Animal Kingdom opens, it always closes at 7 p.m., which is noticeably earlier than the rest of Walt Disney World. Because of that, there’s a little more incentive to arrive earlier due to the early closing time.
If you’re not interested in sticking around for any nighttime shows, then 5 p.m. is usually the best time to start heading out. Otherwise, you will surely be caught in the mass exodus as Guests exit the theme park. Of course, that’s just a part of the Disney experience, though.
It’s always worth noting that theme park hours are always subject to change at a moment’s notice. Be sure to check the official Walt Disney World app or website for more information.
