Here’s When to Arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park typically opens at 8 a.m., but the theme park also opens at 9 a.m. from time to time. This means that Guests visiting can enter the theme park as early as 7:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. depending on the day.
We’d like to mention that arriving as early as possible is usually the best course of action, especially if you’re trying to beat the crowds for big-ticket attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage or the Na’vi River Journey.

One of the Best Things About Animal Kingdom…
But one of the best things about Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is how slow the theme park is compared to the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios.
You don’t have to be at the Park’s entrance right at opening time if you don’t want to. In fact, as long as you show up before the morning turns into the afternoon, you can still experience your favorite attractions.
Want to Know the Best Time to Leave the Theme Park?
Regardless of the time Animal Kingdom opens, it always closes at 7 p.m., which is noticeably earlier than the rest of Walt Disney World. Because of that, there’s a little more incentive to arrive earlier due to the early closing time.
If you’re not interested in sticking around for any nighttime shows, then 5 p.m. is usually the best time to start heading out. Otherwise, you will surely be caught in the mass exodus as Guests exit the theme park. Of course, that’s just a part of the Disney experience, though.
It’s always worth noting that theme park hours are always subject to change at a moment’s notice. Be sure to check the official Walt Disney World app or website for more information.
