“When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candlelights flicker where the air is still deathly—that is when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight…”
The Haunted Mansion has fascinated park-goers since the attraction’s opening. We can’t get enough of the Ghost Host. The Haunted Mansion’s legend has gone beyond the parks and spawned books, movies, and even board games. Wouldn’t it be nice to experience Gracey Manor on the high seas as well? That’s right, we’re talking about an entire Haunted Mansion cruise ship!
Rumors began swirling not long ago that Disney’s newest ship, Treasure, will have a Haunted Mansion themed bar. We can’t get enough of the idea! The possibilities are endless, and we’ve had a blast coming up with potential drink options. Sadly, there’s no official confirmation of this yet, though Disney definitely teased the idea during last year’s D23 Expo. Artist renderings show the Hitchhiking Ghosts, which means they’ll likely be involved in some capacity.
While biding our time waiting on confirmation from Disney (we are simply dying to know), we stumbled upon an incredible creation. It seems someone asked AI to create an entire Haunted Mansion themed cruise ship. The only downside is that this ship isn’t real, but it’s fun to pretend, so come along and explore with me:
This atrium is incredible. Could you imagine walking through here and rather than beachy Disney tunes, it’s organ music that fills the air? Activities could include a murder mystery scavenger hunt!
This dining room is perfect! I can already hear the sounds of a crackling fireplace and ambient spooky noises in the background. The waitstaff would of course be dressed like the Haunted Mansion maids and butlers.
While we wait to see if Disney Treasure will have a Haunted Mansion themed bar we can dream about this spooky Library Bar. Could imagine a ghost story reading here?
This spooky theater could host performances of the life (and afterlife) of Master Gracey! An official backstory complete with dramatization would truly take the ship over the top!
Last but not least, your resting place! Let’s just hope it’s not a final resting place , shall we? This is certainly over the top for a standard state room, If the ship ever did come to pass state rumors wouldn’t be so… stately. However,we are dreaming here so why not? This is absolutely perfect?
Do you love the ship as much as I do? How amazing would it be too set sail on an entire cruise ship themed around The Haunted. Mansion? As we stated before these are just AI renderings and currently Disney has no plans, at least no public plans, to build such a ship. In fact, it seems a little bit impossible but as Walt Disney once said, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible!”
