WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) swings into theaters, fans gather in droves to see what comes next for Miles Morales.
However, fans are also wondering about the next chapter for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.
The final installment of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man story ended with Peter Parker at his lowest point. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Peter Parker was left entirely alone with no friends, no family, no Avengers, not even a GED! All he has left is a crappy apartment and a homemade Spider-Man suit.
In short, Marvel Studios’ Peter Parker is currently down in the dumps. So, it can’t get any worse, right? Wrong!
Fans of the web-slinger know that when it comes to Peter Parker’s bad luck? Things can always get worse.
In any case, fans have been wondering what will happen next, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse just might have the answers.

During one of the pinnacle scenes of the film, Miguel O’Hara explains that every Spider-Man variant undergoes events known as “canon events,” or events that cannot be disrupted. They are always tragic, and they are always unavoidable.
During this scene, there are various images of different Spider-folk undergoing canon events, such as the death of Uncle Ben and similar characters. In this scene, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker can be seen tearing the infamous symbiote suit away.
This implies that battling Venom and experiencing the Venom suit is a canon event-something that all Peter Parkers will have to experience at some point.
Marvel has already given viewers a ton of reasons to believe that Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will face off, but this is the cherry on top of the Spidey sundae.
Of course, nothing is confirmed just yet. That being said, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Venom and Peter Parker are going to meet in the MCU.
