Halloween has come and gone and while witches and goblins and ghosts filled the streets one family decided to absolutely win Halloween with their family costume. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is a huge Disney fans when it came time for the South Dakota First Family to plan their costume, she had an idea that was “practically perfect in every way.”
The Governor and First Family welcomed Trick or Treaters to their home as characters from the classic Disney movie Mary Poppins! Gov. Noem said, “I was Mary Poppins, Bryon was Bert, Kennedy was the chimney sweep, and Tanner was the Constable.” This clever costume idea is absolutely adorable. Noem shared photos on all of her social media pages and we can’t get enough of the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious costume!
Dressing up and passing out candy at the Governor’s Mansion is a South Dakota Halloween tradition and citizens of the Mount Rushmore State always get excited to see what costume the First Family will don. “[Opening] the Governor’s Residence for Halloween is a tradition we enjoy being part of,” said Governor Kristi Noem. “We love to see all of the children in their costumes!”
They welcomed Trick or Treaters from 5:30- 8:00 PM and saw hundreds of families dressed on their Halloween best.
Noem declared this homemade adorable play on words her favorite costume of the night. Many Disney characters visited the Governor’s Mansion as well like this adorable Jack-Jack from Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles!
Celebrity costumes are always a popular post-Halloween talking point and Governor Noem’s may be our favorite but ultra Disney fan Neil Patrick Harris and family is a close second. Check out this throwback to our favorite Disbey costume from the classic Disney Parks ride The Haunted Mansion:
