When you visit a Disney Resort, there are a number of rules that you must follow. The rules are in place to keep both Guests and Cast Members safe and make sure everyone behaves appropriately. If a Guest breaks these rules, they may be asked to leave the theme park for the day. If the rule-breaking is more egregious and dangerous, Disney may choose to ban the Guest from the Parks for a certain amount of time.
In the past, we have reported on Guests who were banned for getting into a brawl at the Magic Kingdom, Guests who were arrested and banned for stealing from strollers, and a social media influencer who was banned for constantly breaking theme park rules to make videos.
Now, another family is going viral for sharing their story about being banned from Disneyland with Buzzfeed.
According to Tre and Myley — known on TikTok as The J Family — they were visiting Disneyland Resort with their three children. They were Annual Passholders, so they visit the theme parks frequently. On the day they were banned, they said that they decided to ride the popular attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean.
Before they got in line, Myley decided to run back to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Café and buy more Raspberry Macarons that the café is known for.
The line moved quickly and by the time Myley got back to the line — which she moved around to get to the front –, her family was already in the boat. Myley says that a Cast Member let her get to the front and go around the people to catch up with the boat. However, the ride vehicle started to move before she was in it. So, instead of waiting for the next boat, Myley decided to make the incredibly dangerous decision to jump onto the moving boat.

Myley and Tre say that Myley was worried that they would get in trouble, but Tre felt that something would have happened immediately if they were in trouble. Then, as they got to the end of the ride, they noticed that Cast Members were searching every ride boat, and they knew that the Cast Members were looking for them.
When they got out of the boat, the Cast Member asked to see their ID and their Annual Pass. The two were then told that their Passes were being confiscated and that they were being removed from the Park. Their youngest daughter didn’t understand the ban and told them that they could just come back later.

While the couple was banned from the Park, it appears that the ban did not last. According to Tre and Myley, they let their Annual Passes expire. They then later went to buy new passes — now called Magic Keys — and nothing popped up in their record, and they were allowed to buy the Keys and continue their family time at the Parks.
Please remember that, if you are visiting the Disney Parks, safety is always of paramount importance. If you break the rules, Disney has every right to ban you for a week, a month, a year, or even for life. While Myley’s actions didn’t hurt anyone, the situation could have easily become dangerous if she had fallen.
While at the Parks, it is always important to listen to the Cast Members and the safety regulations on each ride and attraction.
