The Timeless Appeal of The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music first premiered on Broadway in 1959 and remains one of the most beloved musicals of all time. The story follows Maria, a young aspiring nun who becomes the governess to a widowed naval captain’s seven children. With songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” the musical has had a lasting impact on musical theater. A new revival at Lincoln Center would surely draw significant attention, especially with Zegler in the lead role.
Though specific details of the production are yet to be announced, the news of Zegler’s potential involvement has caused a stir among fans of both the actress and the musical. With the expectation of a fresh, modern take on the classic, Zegler’s casting would likely infuse The Sound of Music with renewed energy, adding to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming revival.

Fans eagerly await confirmation, speculating about how Zegler will bring her own interpretation to this iconic role. As the theater world watches closely, Zegler’s journey from West Side Story to a potential Sound of Music revival at Lincoln Center reflects her growing influence and versatility as an entertainer.
As details emerge about the production, Zegler’s rumored casting in this beloved role continues to capture the attention of fans, who are eager to see what she will bring to one of Broadway’s most iconic parts.
Please DO Not use her that would totally ruin the most beloved movie she is the very worst person to choose for this part.
I so agree! It would be unbelievably horrible to cast her in Sound of Music-unless it was the evil Baroness! I think von Trappe family would have something to say about casting RZ in S of M too.
“Zegler continues to be a rising star with both a film career and stage presence that resonates with audiences.” Only the Brainless humanoid audiences think that.
She is not pretty. Her voice is ok. Her mouth and brain kill the show she’s in .she should be black listed and not aloud to work in entertainment. There are so many actresses and singers better than her . Why is someone trying to keep her in the limelight? Must be blow jobs
Of course, let’s place an avowed anti-Semite into the role of matriarch of a historical family who fled Nazi oppression. I’m sure the Von Trapp children in this production will frolic about town wrapped in Palestinian flags instead of old curtains. Is the Lincoln Center really that tone deaf or do they just not care. Either way, count me out.
Judy one more bid “So What” about her
Who really cares
So the Lincoln Center has selected an avowed anti-Semite to portray the matriarch of a family fleeing Nazi oppression. I’m guessing that instead of discarded curtains, the Von-Trapp children will frolic about town in play wear made of Palestinian flags and wear keffiyeh head wraps. If it wasn’t sad, it would almost be funny.
I won’t be watching it if Ziegler plays Maria. Austrians are not Hispanics. After her remarks and beliefs has been shared I will not watch anything she acts in. She is definitely no Julie Andrews!
