Popular EPCOT Restaurant Now CLOSED

Refreshment Port closed

EPCOT is home to some of the best food Walt Disney World has to offer. In fact, some of the best food at the Walt Disney World Resort is located here. The food at EPCOT is so good that it’s usually the sole reason we get Park Hopper theme park tickets when we visit. There’s too much to choose from to settle on just one or two meals at this Park! However, sometimes our favorites are unavailable. From the Refreshment Port to La Cava Del Tequila, EPCOT is home to many tasty treats. It can be dispointing to discover your favorite is closed. but knowing in advance helps to keep things on track and manage expectations. There’s nothing worse than planning on a favorite treat only to find it is unavailable.

Currently, a fan-favorite quick stop is closed at EPCOT. Located just before the Canada Pavilion in the World Showcase, the Refreshment Port closed on July 6 for a brief refurbishment. Since this is a favorite stop for a snack or drink before tackling World Showcase, it’s definitely something to plan for if you happen to be visiting this month. The quick service location will reopen on July 28, 2023, just in time for EPCOT’S International Food and Wine Festival to begin! When it reopens, a fan-favorite classic will be back on the menu after 19 years!!!

The Refreshment Port is a walk-up stand with no indoor access. It’s popular with fans because of its trendy (and Instagramable) rotating menu. Its walk-up-style counter service also provides easy access to a quick snack or drink. Most locations require you to go inside, but Refreshment Port allows you to fuel up on the go. While the Refreshment Port is closed, we recommend The Outpost for your on-the-go snack attack. You’ll find it in the World Showcase between Germany and China.

Restaurants close from time to time for some TLC. Menu updates, fresh paint, or equipment upgrades are often the reason, so while it is disappointing to encounter a closure, we appreciate the work Disney does to keep things fresh. With so many maintenance issues currently plaguing the Parks, we will never complain when something is getting some much-needed love and care. As always, stay tuned right here at Disney Dining for the latest Disney news and updates (we’re more than just food)!

About Jill Bivins

Jill Bivins has been visiting Disney Parks since she was 2 years old and loves sharing her Disney adventures with the world. She likes to say Disney is in her blood and writing is in her bones — so any time she has the opportunity to combine these loves she is one happy camper! She has a deep abiding love for Epcot and as a die hard Star Wars fan has a serious love for Hollywood Studios as well. When she isn't exploring or writing about Disney Parks, Jill is homeschooling her 8 year old son, playing with her brand new baby son, or pretending to be a farmer on her family homestead (despite being unable to keep even a cactus alive).
