It’s been a summer full of hotter-than-usual weather across the United States, but this year, the state of California enjoyed the tiniest bit of a reprieve from the heat with which the summer of 2021 punished residents of the Golden State.
One thing that didn’t change this summer in California, however, is the ridiculous number of crimes committed at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. In fact, at Disneyland this summer, Cast Members and team leads were forced to call for police intervention dozens of times as nearly 50 different crimes were committed by Guests on Disneyland property, per The Orange County Register.
Remember the film we’ve seen a thousand times of Walt Disney as he welcomes visitors for the first time to his brand new park in Anaheim?
Walt welcomed Guests on July 17, 1955, with the greeting, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome! Disneyland is your land . . . ”

But just like we’re sure Walt meant for his message that day to be timeless–reaching even to Guests of Disneyland in the present day, we’re sure that greeting would never have been extended to the thieves, child abusers, and arsonists that happened to walk through the gates at Disneyland in June and July of this year.
The Orange County Register documents 21 calls from Disneyland for the assistance of local law enforcement in June and 26 calls in July 2022. Each of the 47 calls for police resulted in some type of intervention from local law enforcement.
Call logs kept by local law enforcement near the Disneyland Resort document incidences of assault and battery, arson, brandishing a firearm, and child abuse–and that’s just a few of the incidents.

For whatever reason, several Guests at Disneyland this summer felt the need to have narcotics in their possession, the need to interfere with officers, the need to steal, and the need to disturb the peace.
So here’s hoping that those who visit the parks and cause these problems hear this message:
“To all you who come to that happy place and commit crimes, Disneyland is not your land, so please commit your crimes at home, rather than at Disneyland in public for Mickey and thousands of children to see.”
