One Hour Away from Disney World – Peppa Pig Is Moving In!

We won’t tell Mickey Mouse, but do you ever visit other Central Florida Theme Parks when you visit Walt Disney World Resort? We’ll be honest and say we may have visited Harry Potter over at Universal a time or two, or spotted a whale friend at SeaWorld. Well, now, for all those Disney fans that may also have little ones in love with Peppa Pig… you’ll want to listen. Shh… Peppa Pig is moving to Central Florida – roughly one hour away from Walt Disney World!

While yes, Peppa Pig can’t even begin to compare to our beloved Mickey Mouse and friends, if you’re not familiar with who or what Peppa Pig is, well, our kids would be disappointed. Peppa Pig is a long-running children’s series that launched in 2004. The adventurous show of mishaps and friendships surrounding a young girl, Peppa Pig, her brother George, their parents (Daddy Pig and “Mummy” Pig), and the other animal families are into their seventh season. The animated series is lighthearted and filled with humor while still helping children understand new emotions and experiences. Peppa Pig is popular enough that it has now landed its very own theme Park!

Peppa Pig Theme Park will open February 24, 2022, as a new Theme Park near LEGOLAND in Central Florida. The site for the new Park will be located just an hour away from Walt Disney World Resort property. The official website states that “Peppa Pig Theme Park is a NEW, standalone theme Park that will be just steps away from LEGOLAND Florida Resort in 2022. This all-new theme Park will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, themed playscapes and water play areas—complete with “muddy puddles” of course—and fun live shows daily, all based on instantly recognizable locations from the globally popular brand. Families will meet Peppa and her friends as they snort, giggle and play to build their family’s first theme Park memories together.”

“Designed to be the ultimate day for little ones, the new theme Park combines six interactive rides and six themed playgrounds with character shows and an indoor cinema for quieter moments. Every corner of the charming new Park is crafted with preschoolers in mind, from their first roller coaster rides with their parents and free fair games for the whole family, to an all-terrain course where they will pedal tricycles through a sensory-rich trail and a colorful splash pad that celebrates “muddy puddles” jumping fun! Through every experience, families will snort, giggle, and create their family’s first theme Park memories together with Peppa and her friends.”

While our kids have personally loved watching Peppa Pig for years, it would definitely be a hard sell to get us to leave Walt Disney World. Our hope is that soon enough, Disney World embraces the popularity of the adorable Disney Junior show (also on Disney+), “Bluey” as shown in the photo above. We suspect Bluey would be a great rival to Peppa Pig moving in just an hour away from Disney!
