‘Encanto’ Comes to Disney in a Big Way

Voiced by actress and singer Jessica Darrow, Luisa is the older sister of the Madrigal family. With her big muscles and super strength, she embodies the power and resilience of women. Whether she’s lifting heavy objects effortlessly or protecting her loved ones from harm, Luisa is undeniably a force to be reckoned with.

Aside from her super strength and physical abilities, Luisa is also relatable as an older sibling. Her interactions with her younger siblings reflect the love, protectiveness, and occasional irritation that often arises in sibling dynamics. As a result, many viewers connect with Luisa on a personal level, understanding the complexities and responsibilities that come with being an older member of a large family.

Luisa’s character evolves throughout the film, showcasing vulnerability and growth. Despite her superhuman strength, she faces challenges and moments of doubt. This range has made her immensely likable amongst audiences, and her popularity led to her song “Surface Pressure” becoming an international hit.

Understandably, Disney has been looking for ways to capitalize on the success of this film and its characters. Already, Disney Parks have implemented some Encanto characters and elements into the Parks by introducing Mirabel and Bruno’s ‘meet and greets’.

Disney Announces ‘Encanto’ Expansion… Plus a Meet and Great?

This past weekend, at the semi-annual Destination D23 event, Disney revealed to the world that the area currently known as Dinoland U.S.A. will be transformed into a South-American-inspired area. According to Disney, Encanto is being considered as a lead option for that land.

This announcement was quickly followed by today’s casting call looking for performers who could portray the role of Luisa at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney is looking for a look-alike to depict the role at “potential future specific events.”
