‘Mandalorian’ Actor Blasts J.K. Rowling, Labels Her a “Heinous Loser”

Pedro Pascal, known for his role as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian, has become one of Disney’s most beloved figures since his breakout performance in 2019. With a fanbase that spans across Star Wars, The Last of Us, and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), Pascal has built a reputation not just for his acting but for his outspokenness on matters that matter to him.

This time, however, his remarks have drawn significant attention for an entirely different reason: his fierce criticism of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

Pascal’s involvement in The Mandalorian, one of Disney+’s flagship shows, quickly catapulted him into the hearts of millions, further cemented by his appearances in major Hollywood films and series. Fans admire him not only for his versatility on-screen, but for his passionate support of his family and causes he believes in, especially when it comes to transgender rights.

The controversy began when Rowling, already a polarizing figure due to her views on gender, posted a tweet following the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on transgender rights. The court ruled that transgender women are not protected under Britain’s Equality Act, effectively limiting their legal recognition as women.

Celebrating the decision, Rowling posted an image of herself holding a drink and smoking a cigar, a move that was met with widespread backlash.

While some supported Rowling’s stance, many in the LGBTQ+ community and their allies have continued to voice their concerns. Pascal, known for his advocacy for his transgender sister, Lux Pascal, was quick to respond. Lux Pascal, who came out as transgender in 2021, has been a frequent source of pride for Pedro, and his protective nature towards her has often shown in public statements and interviews.

When Pascal saw Rowling’s tweet, he couldn’t stay silent. On Instagram, he posted a comment that has since gone viral. “Heinous LOSER behavior,” Pascal wrote, calling out the author for her actions and defending his sister and the broader transgender community.

This wasn’t the first time Pascal had used his platform to voice his discontent, but this post has certainly captured the most attention.

The post, which gained millions of likes and thousands of comments, wasn’t just an attack on Rowling but a statement of support for the transgender community. By choosing to speak out, Pascal ignited a firestorm of reactions across social media. Many fans cheered him on, calling him a hero for standing up against the harmful rhetoric that has plagued the discourse around transgender issues.

In response to Pascal’s public comments, many fans have pointed to the stark contrast between Pascal’s embrace of inclusivity and Rowling’s controversial remarks. Activists, celebrities, and everyday Twitter users have flocked to social media, both supporting Pascal and criticizing Rowling.

Pascal’s Instagram post amplified the conversation, garnering praise from figures like activist Tariq Ra’ouf, who posted a video about the ruling and the damaging effects it could have on the trans community. Ra’ouf noted that Pascal’s comment had brought the UK’s controversial ruling to the attention of millions, likely influencing a much broader audience than would have seen it otherwise.

In addition to Pascal, several other celebrities have spoken out against Rowling’s views, including Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, who has publicly distanced herself from the Harry Potter franchise and any association with the author.

Coughlan, along with others in Hollywood, has made it clear that they cannot support someone who holds such controversial and harmful beliefs.

While Pascal’s comments have certainly added fuel to the fire, the debate over Rowling’s views is far from over. As the Harry Potter franchise continues to thrive, with new projects being developed under Warner Bros., questions about Rowling’s involvement remain a contentious issue.

Fans have called on production companies, such as HBO Max (formerly known as Max), to distance themselves from the author, but the company has continued to defend her role as an executive producer on the upcoming Harry Potter series.

  1. I stand with JK Rowling, Transgender women are just con men. If you weren’t born with a vagina, you are not a woman, quit living in a fantasy world!

  2. So, a far leftist from Chile moves to Denmark and then the U.S only to criticize a British sovereign whose “cardinal sin” is expressing her beliefs that sex is determined at birth. What makes him so right and her so wrong? And why is this “Disney” news? It adds nothing to their bottom line, will likely alienate consumers (Snow White anyone?) and only shows how intolerant Pascal is of others opinions and beliefs. Name calling is the “last refuge of a scoundrel.”

  3. This just makes me love him all the more. I wonder how many of the people praising her actions are women? And how many of them are incels who can’t stand the idea that trans women are just as disgusted by them. JKR is a disgusting excuse for a woman. To those of you who think women have to have XX chromosomes, has anyone tested Rowling?
