Last week we shared the news that Disney World Cast Members were planning to march against Disney’s recent requirement mandating all Cast Members receive the COVID 19 vaccine. All Disney Cast Members, even Unionized employees, are now required to be vaccinated. With Saturday, September 18, being the deadline for Cast Members to receive the last dose of the COVID 19 vaccination, there were some Cast Members that disagreed with the mandatory requirement and planned to march in protest against it on Friday, September 17. According to local reporters, the protest march against the mandatory COVID 19 vaccination was made up of less than 30 Cast Members.

Reporter Katie Rice took to Twitter to share: “Around 25 people are walking down Apopka-Vineland Road toward Disney to protest Disney’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement for Cast Members. The protest was organized by a current Cast Member who said he distrusts the vaccine in its current form.” Rice goes on to report with a video: “It’s pretty low-key. People are walking silently, except for a man in a Jack Sparrow pirate hat playing a bongo drum.”

Another reporter, Ashley Carter took to Twitter to share: “More than two dozen people marched near Disney World on Friday to protest the company’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for Cast Members.” She also tweets a photo of Disneyland reporting, “A similar protest against Disney’s vaccine mandate took place outside Disneyland in California. My colleague on the West Coast reported that three people showed up. (Camera with flash: @Josephpimentel)
As of most recently, not only are we seeing that Cast Members and workers are required to be vaccinated, but Disney has extended the required coronavirus vaccination to the Disney Cruise Line as well with all Guests boarding the ship ages 12 and up must show their vaccination status for proof of vaccine. Plus, out in California, we have recently learned that some theme Park Guests must show proof of COVID vaccination beginning October 7. The big question is will Disneyland and/or Walt Disney World require Guests visiting the Parks to be vaccinated next?
