Well, Disney fans… the day is almost here. Whether we like it or not, as previously announced, Disney’s Magical Express is coming to an end at the end of 2021. As we count down the days, another transportation service has announced they will offer service to and from the airport and Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney’s Magical Express is the complimentary bus transportation that was offered for all Disney Resort Guests traveling to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Walt Disney World Resort hotels. When Disney announced it would be ending this service as of January 1, 2022, it was a huge disappointment to Disney fans.

We previously shared that Mears Connect will continue to offer service to and from the MCO airport for a fee. For Mears standard bus service, Guests can expect to pay $16 (per adult) / $13.50 (per child) for a one-way trip or $32 (per adult) / $27 (per child) for a round trip. For the express car service, Guests can pay $250 for a round trip with up to 4 passengers, with an additional $55 per additional passenger.
Now, we’re learning of ANOTHER transportation service stepping in! Transportation Management Services has announced it will launch The Sunshine Flyer, a bus service between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort hotels, beginning February 1, 2022. The Sunshine Flyer notes the experience with:
“All aboard the Sunshine Flyer! The Sunshine Flyer brings the era of 1920’s rail travel to the start of your vacation. The Sunshine Flyer’s buses are late model, premium motorcoaches with a theme centered around old-fashioned passenger cars and train locomotives. From the bus designs to drivers and staff dressed as 1920s rail conductors and engineers, the Sunshine Flyer experience starts shortly after you step off the plane.”
“Each Motorcoach will be wrapped either as a 1920’s era locomotive or passenger car. No two vehicle designs will be the same, providing a distinctiveness for each Sunshine Flyer ride, giving first-time riders and returning Guests a new experience and photo opportunity each time they ride The Sunshine Flyer.“

While we’ll greatly miss Disney’s complimentary Magical Express, we are excited about having not one (Mears Connect) but two transportation options with the addition of the new The Sunshine Flyer traveling to and from MCO airport and Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
