Gone for Two Years, This Disney Fan Favorite Is Suddenly Back on Shelves

Stop the presses, plush collectors. NuiMOs have returned to Walt Disney World, and if you’ve been mourning these little guys for the past two years, it’s time to plan a trip to EPCOT.

Yes, really. The tiny posable plush that once dominated every Disney Instagram feed, then ghosted us all without so much as a goodbye, are quietly sitting on shelves again. And in a plot twist absolutely nobody had on their bingo card, they cost less than they did before.

Let’s catch everyone up.

A Quick NuiMOs History Lesson

If you missed the craze the first time, here’s the crash course. NuiMOs started in Japan back on November 1, 2018, and the name blends the Japanese words nuigurumi, meaning plush, and moderu, meaning model. That name was the whole pitch: soft little characters built to be dressed up, posed, and photographed like miniature supermodels.

Japan loved them. Hong Kong and Shanghai Disneyland got them next through 2019 and 2020. Then on January 19, 2021, they landed in North America and Europe with six characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Stitch, and Angel, plus seventeen outfits in their first Fashion Collection. Disney fans went all in, snapping photos of their dressed-up plush in front of castles and churros everywhere.

And then, around two years ago, the whole line just faded away. The last new release came in 2024, shelves emptied out, and no one ever made it official. The trend was simply gone.

What’s Back on Disney Shelves Right Now

Fast forward to this week. Over at Creations Shop in EPCOT, six classic NuiMOs have reappeared: Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Donald Duck, Stitch, and Angel. That’s most of the original founding crew plus two Hundred Acre Wood legends, which is a pretty charming restock lineup if you ask us.

This follows new Mickey NuiMOs that arrived with the recent Logo Mania collections, so the comeback has been building for a few weeks now.

The Price Actually Dropped. No, Seriously.

Sit down for this part. The restocked plush are $19.99 each.

Back in 2024, when the last new NuiMOs came out, they were $21.99. That means these returned at two dollars cheaper than where they left off, and they’re also priced under the Logo Mania Mickeys. When was the last time you saw anything at Disney World come back from hiatus with a lower price tag? We’ll wait.

The One Bummer

Now, the catch, because there’s always a catch. The outfits have not been restocked.

For a lot of fans, the wardrobe was the entire point. The rotating fashion collections, the seasonal costumes, the tiny park-inspired looks, that’s what made NuiMOs a photography hobby instead of just another plush on the shelf. Until clothing returns, the comeback feels a little half-dressed, pun fully intended.

Should You Grab One on Your Next Disney Trip?

Our honest advice: if you’ve been waiting on these, don’t dawdle. This restock arrived with zero fanfare, and it could vanish the same way. NuiMOs fans learned the hard way that Disney trends can disappear overnight.

Whether this is Disney clearing out classic stock or testing whether the fanbase is still hungry before reviving the whole line, nobody knows yet. But at $19.99, taking home a little Eeyore or Angel is one of the cheaper pieces of Disney nostalgia you’ll find in the parks right now. See you at Creations Shop.
