Did you hear the “BREAKING” news about the Disney World Castle fire? A false report has left Disney fans asking if Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle has burned down. Here’s why there is a flurry of questions…

Did Disney World’s Castle Burn Down?

Have no fear, Disney fans! While “Disney World Castle fire” is one of the most Googled Disney topics at the moment, we can assure you the iconic Cinderella Castle is still shining in all its glory.

Nestled at the end of Walt Disney World’s Main Street, U.S.A. since 1971, Cinderella Castle is one of the most recognized icons in the world.

Home of the restaurant Cinderella’s Royal Table, the children’s makeover experience Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a special Cinderella Castle Suite for the rare VIP guest, as well as the glamorous background for stage entertainment and the memorable Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular… the Castle today is as beautiful as ever.

Fake News

The drama began when a satirical site announced that Cinderella Castle burned to the ground. The TikTok video reporting the fire has over 23.4 million views and counting. It’s likely the average person saw the video or read the blog and quickly believed the fake news:

This isn’t the first time clips of this viral video have been shared. We first saw clips of smoke filling Main Street, U.S.A., after the standard stage show or nightly fireworks. But, of course, fireworks and pyrotechnics produce smoke, allowing for quick videos or photos to be used in such a way as short videos to threaten the scare of a fire on or near the Castle.

Additionally, a Reddit thread or two has been known to talk about Disney Castle fires, such as this video produced as a gaming system titled, “Dumpster Fire Destroys Castle:”

True Fire Scares

While there is no truth to the above viral video that has stirred the Castle fire questions, there have been fire threats in the past at Walt Disney World Resort.

From restaurant evacuations due to a small kitchen fire to fireworks from Disney World’s nighttime spectaculars causing a brief attraction fire on the Snow White Mine Train, and even the incredible Maleficent Dragon parade float going up in flames at Magic Kingdom… fires at a real threat that Disney takes very seriously.

But for now, rest easy, Disney fans! Disney World’s Castle did NOT burn to the ground.

  1. The Maleficent dragon burned at DISNEYLAND, not the Magic Kingdom!
