When planning a trip to Walt Disney World one thing that you’ll need to keep in mind is your budget. There are plenty of ways to save money on your Disney vacation, but there also are some things that are worth the extra money. After all, you deserve to have an amazing family vacation. Here are eight things that you shouldn’t skimp on when planning your trip to Walt Disney World.
8. A Walt Disney World Resort Hotel
If you are coming from out of town you will need to find a place to stay. There are so many different hotels and resorts in the Central Florida area that it can be a little overwhelming deciding which is the best one for you. Walt Disney World has many different resorts that are right on property and they are very convenient. Plus there is free Disney transportation all around Walt Disney World so you don’t even have to worry about taking a car if you don’t want to. There are many extras and benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and there are different price levels so you can still stay if you are on a budget. Some of the Deluxe Resorts are so breathtaking and gorgeous that you may want to splurge and treat yourself, but even the Value Resorts are a lot of fun. You are sure to find something on property that will fit into your budget.
7. Park Hopper
Depending on how many days you’re going to be at Walt Disney World, Park Hopper can be a really great option. You can jump back-and-forth between parks and get as much in as possible. Right now the way that Disney is doing it since reopening that is you need to have a reservation for one park ahead of time. You have to scan into that park. Then, after 2:00 PM, you are able to Park Hop to another Disney park as long as it has not reached capacity. Park Hopper is worth the extra money if you want to fit in as much as you possibly can.
6. Fine Dining
Walt Disney World has many amazing restaurants that you will want to check out. There are several signature dining options, and you need to treat yourself to at least one of these restaurants while on your Walt Disney World vacation. Victoria & Albert’s, Yachtsman Steakhouse, California Grill, and Flying Fish are just a few of the many fine dining options available. (Not all fine dining restaurants have reopened.) Make sure you make your reservation as early as you can because spots will fill up and you don’t want to miss your opportunity.Â
5. Character Dining
If you are looking for some a little more fun and laid back character dining is a must. Seeing characters while you dine is a great option for kids and adults alike. You will enjoy a delicious meal and some of your favorite Disney characters will come and join the party. There will be lots of photo opportunities available during your meal. Character dining is the definition of fun for the entire family.
4. Special Ticketed Events
From time to time Walt Disney World will have special events that you will need a separate ticket for. These can be expensive, but they are worth every cent. The special ticketed events are very limited in capacity, which means you will be able to do more. Disney After Hours Boo Bash is the first special ticketed event announced after COVID-19. It will be held at the Magic Kingdom. Ticket holders will have a great opportunity to see the park in a little bit different way.Â
3. Souvenirs
Every time you turn around there seems to be another gift shop at Walt Disney World, but this is something that we love. Make sure that you save some extra room in your suitcase, because you will want to come back with souvenirs to remind you of your amazing vacation. There are T-shirts, Mickey ears, bags, and so much more. Remember as well that Walt Disney World souvenirs make great Christmas and birthday gifts for family and friends; just saying.
2. Memory Maker
All around Walt Disney World you will see PhotoPass photographers. Memory Maker allows you to keep all of the photos that they take for one price. When the photographer scans your ticket or MagicBand the pictures will link up to Memory Maker. This is a great option to have added on because all of your photos will now be included in your My Disney Experience App. This will also include any ride photos, which are always fun to keep as memories. You can get Magic Shots as well. Most of the iconic photo spots will have a PhotoPass photographer already, so getting the perfect picture is one less thing you have to worry about. Only one person in your party needs to purchase Memory Maker. If you’re linked in your My Disney Experience accounts, you will receive all the pictures.
