When it comes to Walt Disney World, the Most Magical Place on Earth, it can feel like nothing will go wrong. But unfortunately, things can go wrong behind the scenes all the time.
Walt Disney World is not infallible, and attractions break down all the time. Usually, however, it’s an older attraction that’ll break down.
Rides such as the Haunted Mansion, the Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Pirates of the Caribbean are attractions that go offline and break down more often than others, in part due to their age.
And it’s just dark rides with a slow-moving ride vehicle! Roller coaster attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Expedition Everest also go down from time to time.
However, one of Walt Disney World’s newest roller coasters recently went down, and it’s not in Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom.
EPCOT recently welcomed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind into its arsenal, and it’s been an instant hit ever since.
This roller coaster attraction is genuinely unlike anything Walt Disney World has ever seen (or any other theme park, for that matter).
But according to one visitor, the attraction recently went down for three hours, and nobody knows why!

Anybody on the ride today when it broke? I need to know what happened. We saw a woman being wheel chaired out and assumed that was the reason for the delay but it was about another hour and a half until we actually got to ride. Ultimately glad we waited it out but man, today was not the best Disney day.
So, why did Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind go down? Unfortunately, there’s not enough information here to say what happened. An attraction as complex as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind could go down for several reasons due to all the moving parts.
On the bright side, the delay was only temporary, as the Cosmic Rewind roller coaster is currently up and running again.
