The holiday season has started at Walt Disney World. The parks have quickly transitioned from spooks and pumpkins to trees and wreaths. The holiday season is full of magic and joy. From Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to the massive gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, guests are immersed in the season’s magic.

Each season, Disney does a great job introducing new holiday-themed snacks, merchandise, and even holiday-themed popcorn buckets. We can’t wait to experience this holiday offering at Walt Disney World and are thrilled by the adorable popcorn buckets we can add to our collection.

Popcorn Buckets = Refills

Popcorn has always been a staple at Disney Parks. Guests can smell the buttery goodness as soon as they walk into the park. Those who love popcorn invest in refillable buckets for their vacation.

The basic popcorn bucket typically costs $13.00 and will feature characters and icons from Walt Disney World. After purchasing the bucket, you can refill it throughout the Disney Parks for $2.25.

This is a fantastic deal for families who love popcorn. When you do the math, this can be a huge savings over the length of a Disney vacation.

A regular box of popcorn is around $5.50. If your family enjoys more than one popcorn box during a trip, the refill bucket is the way to go. Plus, you get a fun bucket to take home.

Speciality Popcorn Buckets

As guests loved the refillable popcorn buckets featuring unique designs celebrating special events, Disney quickly realized they could do even more with them.  We quickly began to see specialty popcorn buckets.

These buckets were not your typical buckets but instead were shaped and designed to represent Disney characters, rides, and even transportation. These have become collectibles for many Disney guests.

Some have been themed after Madame Leota from The Haunted Mansion. Disneyland saw a train bucket featuring Mickey as the conductor. Mickey and Minnie have also been featured in their different celebration outfits.  The one that hit big, however, was Figment.

When it was announced that Figment would be a popcorn bucket, guests prepared to wait in line for hours to have this adorable bucket as part of their collection. Since the Figment release, Disney has implemented a mobile order pick-up to prevent guests from waiting in long lines for buckets.

As we prepare for the holiday season, there are a handful of new, holiday-themed buckets that will have guests thrilled.

Holiday Popcorn Buckets

Disney released that the holiday bucket for this year will be the Mickey Mouse Toy Soldier Bucket. The bucket features Mickey Mouse dressed up in a red toy solder uniform, just like those seen in the holiday parade.

Topped with an adorable hat, Mickey is ready for the holiday season.

Disney also released that guests can get a Donald Duck Christmas Tree Sipper and a Gold Musical Rotating Tin during the holiday season at Walt Disney World.

These holiday collectibles are perfect for those Disney fans who want to add magic to their homes this holiday season. Or those guests who are looking for a fun souvenir to bring home from their trip.

Are you a fan of the specialty popcorn buckets, or do you stick with the traditional style during your trip?

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
