We previously shared the news that Resort hotel signage at Walt Disney World is being replaced with generic “Airport Shuttle” signs. We’ve also learned Mears Connect signs are replacing Magical Express signs at the Orlando International Airport.
Two transportation options have stepped up as replacement choices for Disney Resort Hotel Guests looking to go to and from Disney Resort Hotels, but the service will no longer be free like it was for Disney’s Magical Express. Both Mears Connect and The Sunshine Flyer are preparing to offer transportation for a fee.

And while Disney first announced Disney’s Magical Express will have its last day on the road December 31, 2021, the Orlando International Airport has taken to social media, noting that the service will continue to take Disney Resort Guest BACK to the airport through early 2022!
Orlando International Airport (@MCO) took to Twitter to share the news, “Take on DME (take on DME) Take me on (take me on) I’ll be gone In 2022…” Disney Magical Express last day to take guests to the resorts from our airport will be Dec. 31. They will continue to bring Disney guests back to the airport until Jan 10.“
So while yes, Disney’s Magical Express will no longer be picking up from Orlando airport after December 31, 2021, Walt Disney World Guests can still take advantage of the free service when returning to the airport until January 10, 2022.
