Call it “paranormal,” blame it on the pandemic, or say it’s because of the shaky housing market in the U. S. right now. Your guess is as good as ours as to why Disney has changed the release date for its upcoming Haunted Mansion film yet again. Its original release date was March 10, 2023, but in September 2o22, the announcement was made that the new film would be released on August 11. Now Disney has said that July 28, 2023, is the golden date.
NEW: Haunted Mansion release date is being moved to July 28 (previously Aug. 11) after The Marvels was moved to Nov. 10 (previously July 28). pic.twitter.com/CG4feyAfwa

We’re not holding our breath just yet.
But whenever the freaky flick is released, we’ll be ready for it, as it sounds like quite the production. And in a cast with that many stars, who needs the constellations? The film will stars Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Jared Leto as the Hatbox Ghost, Jamie Lee Curtis as Madame Leota, Lakeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, Tiffany Haddish, and others.
At the 2022 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, fans at the Disney & PIXAR from Collider.com was in attendance and had this to say regarding the trailer that was shared during the fan expo, but has yet to be released online:
The film follows a single mom named Gabbie, played by Rosario Dawson, who purchases a suspiciously affordable mansion for her and her son in New Orleans. Of course, even in a housing market like today, an incredibly affordable mansion means it’s either the fixer upper of the century, or… it’s haunted.
It doesn’t take long for Gabbie to realize that her time in the Big Easy is not going to be easy at all. She enlists the help of a priest played by Owen Wilson, a psychic played by Tiffany Haddish, a historian played by Danny DeVito, and a paranormal expert played by Lakeith Stanfield to deal with the house. In the trailer shown at D23, we got a first look inside the titular haunted mansion, and lovers of the theme park ride will spot a few familiar faces. From the pictures that show a disappearing spouse to familiar ghosts and séance rooms, visually, we are instantly drawn back to the iconic, spooky Disney ride.
