Disneyland Guests Mock Injured Child, Refuse To Help

A troubling moment on Christmas Eve overshadowed Disneyland Resort‘s unusual holiday cheer for one theme park. An incident involving an injured teenager in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge recently sparked a conversation about the lack of compassion some visitors display, especially during the holiday season.

Disneyland Resort is famous for its festive celebrations during Christmas. With sparkling decorations, seasonal treats, and spectacular entertainment like the A Christmas Fantasy Parade and “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks, the park draws massive crowds eager to soak in the yuletide atmosphere. However, as crowds grow, so do tensions, and not every Disney Park guest brings the holiday spirit.

Reddit user u/sensitiveorchidchild shared their experience visiting Disneyland Park solo on Christmas Eve. While they expected long lines and crowded spaces, they were unprepared for the behavior of some guests.

“First time going to Disneyland during the holidays,” the guest wrote. “…I don’t usually encounter any rude people or interactions that are directed towards me, but…sensed some kind of weirdness with some families feeling entitled to cutting or splitting in between lines.”

Despite these challenges, the guest enjoyed many aspects of their visit, including the attractions and interactions with cast members. But an incident involving a fallen teenager left a sour note.

A Shocking Lack of Empathy

The Redditor described witnessing a teenage girl slip and fall flat on her side in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The reaction from surrounding guests was anything but compassionate.

“Ended up seeking someone completely slip and land flat on their side near galaxy’s edge…,” they wrote. “Completely taken back by the lack of emotion with people who witnessed the first person slipped into the ground… ended up being the only one to offer help which she declined and rushed up and walked away fast. Instead saw some teenage girl mocking her along with her family and laughing.”

The lack of assistance, coupled with the mocking behavior, left the guest both shocked and disheartened.

“Don’t get how some people can be so inconsiderate and hateful towards others when it could had been so serious,” they added.

While the guest appreciated the magic of Disneyland Park during the holidays, the stress of dealing with rude behavior convinced them to avoid visiting during Christmas in the future.

“I don’t think I’ll ever go again for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to the parks,” they concluded. “Way too stressful and too many rude people/ families.”

  1. In my 30+ years of visiting Disney parks all my worst experiences were dealing with rude guests! Rude and also rule breaking cause 90% of the problems at Disney.

  2. My experience was with rude parents with strollers ramming them into people in front of them. And it wasn’t just once or twice, 5 times and the last one took my shoe off.
Then in downtown Disney I watch a father with a stroller push his way between guest and snack cart. And ran over this guy’s foot. The father even said I know I shouldn’t do this but..and did it.
