It’s been a rough few days for guests at Magic Kingdom, with nearly 40% of the park’s attractions experiencing unexpected closures.

If you were hoping to enjoy a smooth day of Disney magic, you might have been in for a surprise as some of the most popular rides went down without warning, leaving guests scrambling to make the most of their day.
From the moment the park opened, things weren’t looking great. Guests arriving early were met with the news that major attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and TRON Lightcycle / Run were already closed. As the hours passed, the list of unavailable rides grew longer, with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and even the classic Carousel of Progress going offline at different times throughout the day.

The sudden influx of closures meant that the remaining open attractions saw their wait times skyrocket. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train eventually reopened, but not before hitting a staggering 125-minute wait, as guests had few options left to choose from. This led to crowded pathways, long lines, and a lot of frustration as families tried to navigate the challenges.
Disney hasn’t officially stated what caused the disruptions, but it’s clear that whatever the issue is, it’s been a persistent problem over the last several days. Whether it’s routine maintenance gone awry or something bigger, guests are feeling the impact. Some speculated that technical malfunctions are to blame, while others wondered if the aging infrastructure of certain rides is starting to catch up.

Despite the frustrating situation, it’s important to remember that Disney Cast Members are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get things back on track. If you’re visiting during times like this, staying patient and flexible is key. Cast Members are expertly trained to handle guest concerns and ensure that the magic isn’t completely lost, even when the rides are down.
For those planning a trip soon, keeping an eye on the My Disney Experience app is the best way to stay informed about ride availability and potential delays. While ride closures are never fun, Magic Kingdom still has plenty to offer, from character meet-and-greets to incredible food options that can make up for lost ride time.
Westworld.
Hello everyone, as stupid as this may sound it is true. A ton of these rides have weather issues. When it’s cold one day but in the 70s or higher the next, funky things start to happen. Most of the time the ride really is safe but it becomes indistinguishable between a serious issue or a weather triggering that problem. I’m not saying this is the case for those closed rides however there’s a strong chance it was. Btw I am a Disney cast member who works attractions.
The cost to get in the park is to much already. Then not to get on 1/2 the rides make the lines for the other rides twice as long. Never a discount or partial refund offered by Disney. Not worth it to me.
Sadly, the magic is already lost. Walt would be ashamed
They should be forced to give refunds in that situation. When half the rides are down, that’s a miserable experience for guests. Idt be absolutely furious after spending $150+ per person for a park day.
We just paid $338 for two one day passes to Epcot. For what people are being charged to enter these parks EVERYTHING should be operational. But to have so many closures on any given day is totally UNACCEPTABLE! Shame on you Disney discount your park passes when you have so many issues in your Parks. We are paying hefty entrances fees and we are certainly entitled to enjoy EVERYTHING the parks have to offer!
