Disney Staff Accused of Racism Towards Child: Guest Files Shocking Complaint

A recent experience at Disneyland’s Flo’s Café has sparked serious concerns after a guest filed a formal complaint about what they believe to be racially motivated behavior by staff members. According to the complaint, the guest and their two children were subjected to unprofessional treatment during a visit to the popular dining spot.

The incident began when the guest’s 7-year-old son attempted to pay using a dining credits gift card. According to the complaint, the server “snatched the card” from the child and began swiping it repeatedly at the machine. The guest claimed that the server looked at the family “as if to say, ‘Your card won’t work. You don’t belong here.’” After several unsuccessful attempts, the guest pointed out that the card was being swiped upside down, to which the server responded by “glaring” and insisting that it must be a “bad card.” It wasn’t until the guest explained that the card’s strip should face down that the payment was successfully processed.

A Name Incident Raises Concerns

What followed was even more alarming: after the transaction was completed, the guest’s son received a receipt with an altered name. The name on the order ticket didn’t match the child’s name but instead read “nig31.” The guest, whose son is biracial, expressed concerns, stating, “I can’t help but feel the cashier did this intentionally—and possibly out of racism.” Despite the distressing discovery, the guest reported that the staff did not offer an apology or any attempt to correct the name on the receipt.

The situation worsened when the guest’s son, after receiving his meal, politely requested to have the carrots removed since he didn’t like them. The guest claims that the workers were rude and dismissive, responding with “snapping” when the request was made. The guest’s oldest son later overheard the workers at the pickup counter openly talking about how they were happy to be rude to the family. They called them “nasty and rude,” unaware that one of the family members was standing nearby, hearing the conversation.

Filing a Complaint with Disneyland’s City Hall

In response to the incident, the guest filed a formal complaint with Disneyland’s City Hall. They presented the receipt as evidence and were told that someone would reach out “ASAP.” However, as of this writing, the guest has yet to receive any communication from Disneyland regarding the issue.

This complaint has sparked conversations about the treatment of marginalized groups at theme parks, especially in light of ongoing discussions about diversity and inclusivity in public spaces. “Even if the ‘nig31’ wasn’t intended as a racial slur, the attitude and disrespect were uncalled for,” the guest remarked.

Disney’s Response to the Allegations

As of now, Disney has not responded to the specific allegations, and it remains unclear whether the company will take any action regarding the employees involved. The situation has raised broader questions about how Disney parks handle guest complaints and whether further action will be taken to address the concerns of families who feel mistreated.

For now, the guest remains hopeful that their complaint will be addressed swiftly and that Disney will take necessary steps to ensure respectful treatment of all park visitors, regardless of their background.
