Disney Hotels Are Getting a Makeover: Major Updates Starting This Year

Disney has unveiled a set of new updates that will enhance the overall guest experience across its three hotels at Disneyland Resort: Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Pixar Place Hotel.

These upgrades aim to elevate every aspect of the hotels, ensuring a memorable stay for everyone, regardless of which property they choose.

A Look at the New Disneyland Hotel Updates

Disneyland Hotel, the resort’s first hotel and a staple of the Disneyland experience, will see the addition of a new concierge lounge this summer. The lounge, named High Key Club, will pay homage to the music and sounds of Disneyland Park from the 1950s, with a custom soundtrack and displays of notable artifacts.

High Key Club, located in the Adventure Tower, will replace the E-Ticket Club and will almost double the space of its predecessor. The lounge will offer a prime spot for concierge-level guests to relax while watching Disneyland Park’s fireworks and enjoying the accompanying music on the nights that the show features pyrotechnics.

Revitalizing the Grand Californian Experience

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, known for its premium accommodations and prime location backing directly into Disney California Adventure Park, will undergo a series of changes that further elevate its luxury.

The flagship restaurant, Napa Rose, will receive a major redesign that blends Craftsman-style design with modern Californian luxury. The refreshed space will feature a stunning chandelier inspired by Mission grapevines, expanded kitchen counters for a closer look at the chefs in action, and an enhanced outdoor patio with additional seating and two new fireplaces. Napa Rose is set to temporarily close this spring for renovations, with plans to reopen in fall 2025, offering a refreshed menu that will still include fan favorites like the Smiling Tiger Salad.

In addition to the renovations at Napa Rose, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will add a new two-story concierge lounge in the coming years. Located on the 5th and 6th floors of the hotel, this lounge will continue the forest theme of the hotel’s Great Hall lobby, drawing inspiration from the towering sequoias of California.

The new lounge will offer a perfect retreat for guests to relax with a book, enjoy a glass of wine, or simply take in the view of the Great Hall below. Set to open in 2026, the lounge will be an exclusive space for club-level guests, offering a luxurious environment with stunning views.

The hotel will also refresh its guest rooms, including those in the Disney Vacation Club Villas. The updated rooms will feature bold colors inspired by California wildflowers, with new carpets, upholstery, and bedding, alongside artwork commissioned from local plein air painters. These enhancements will ensure that the hotel continues to provide a warm, inviting, and contemporary environment that mirrors California’s natural beauty.

Pixar Place Hotel’s Themed Suites

Pixar Place Hotel, which completed its transformation from Paradise Pier Hotel in 2024, isn’t left out of the upcoming updates. This summer, the hotel will unveil two new themed two-bedroom suites inspired by Coco (2017) and The Incredibles (2004).

The Coco Suite will transport guests to the Rivera family’s hacienda, with Oaxacan-style architecture, terracotta tiles, artisan quilts, and handcrafted furniture. Hand-painted art will add a personal touch, creating an immersive experience that celebrates the film’s rich culture.

Meanwhile, the Incredibles Suite will feature a mid-century “spy-fi” design, with a primary bedroom for the Parr parents and a connecting room for Edna Mode (designed by the fashionista herself, which assumedly means it’ll be cape-free). Superhero-inspired touches, such as hidden messages, a secret door, and other surprises, will ensure that guests feel like they’re part of the Incredibles world.
