Disneyland Resort, the original “Happiest Place on Earth,” is a legendary and iconic theme Park that has enchanted generations of Guests since its opening in 1955. Located in Anaheim, California, Disneyland is the brainchild of Walt Disney, the visionary behind beloved characters like Mickey Mouse and timeless animated films. Disneyland is divided into two main areas: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland Park is often referred to as the heart and soul of the Disneyland experience. It is divided into sections. Main Street, U.S.A., is where Guests can stroll past the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Beyond Main Street, U.S.A., Guests can venture into the enchanting lands that make up the Park: Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and several more. Each land has its unique theme, attractions, dining, and entertainment options. From embarking on adventures with Pirates of the Caribbean to soaring through space on Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, there is something to delight every Guest. While Disneyland Park is home to classic and beloved attractions such as “it’s a small world,” Haunted Mansion, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds, it also showcases captivating live shows and parades.
Next Door at Disney California Adventure Park, Guests can go on a journey through different areas, including Buena Vista Street, Hollywood Land, Pixar Pier, Grizzly Peak, and Cars Land. Disneyland Guests can experience thrilling attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and the Incredicoaster, as well as enjoy live entertainment, shows, and immersive dining experiences.
In recent years, there have been occasional reports of Disneyland Guests falling ill during their visits to the popular theme Park. While Disneyland takes numerous measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its Guests, it is not entirely immune to incidents of Guests getting sick. These occurrences can be attributed to various factors, including pre-existing health conditions, contagious illnesses, and occasionally, food-related issues.
To minimize the risk of getting sick while visiting Disneyland, it’s advisable for Guests to take certain precautions. These include practicing good hygiene by regularly washing hands, using hand sanitizers, and avoiding touching the face. It’s also recommended to stay hydrated, dress appropriately for the weather, and take breaks to rest and cool down when needed. Guests with pre-existing health conditions should take their medical needs into consideration and consult with healthcare professionals before embarking on their Disneyland adventure.
In a viral TikTok, a former Disneyland Guest talks about the time she allegedly got a flesh-eating bacteria while at Disneyland. In a series on TikTok, the Guest shares that she visited Disneyland at 15 years old with her school band when she and her group went to ride Space Mountain. This Guest decided not to walk the empty line but climb over the railing to get closer to the front when she scraped her leg. While she did not seem bothered by the scrap, it continued to get larger.
At the end of the week, she went to perform with her band, and she collapsed and had to crawl off the stage. At this point, she was feverish, pale and had not been able to keep anything down. While this TikTok ended here, they added several other videos of the results and outcome. The Guest shares that they were taken to the hospital and treated by doctors. Though she went home, she later had to return to the hospital and was immediately admitted. She shares in one video that the growth was “2 cm away” from having to amputate her leg.
