We don’t know how many 2 1/2-minutes-long trailers could actually hold our attention, especially when they aren’t for an upcoming blockbuster at the box office. In fact, we aren’t even sure how many offerings are worthy of a trailer that length.
But alas, we have no problem whatsoever with the new Disney+ trailer that just dropped, regardless of its length, first, because it’s for Disney+, and second, because Disney was able to pack so many clips of our favorite Disney+ streamables into that short amount of time.
The very first “Disney+ Day,” set to be commemorated on November 12, 2021, was announced only a few weeks ago by Bob Chapek, CEO of The Walt Disney Company. His announcement included information about special releases on the platform that day, as well as other exciting surprises in store for subscribers to the platform.
Take a look:
The trailer celebrates the two year anniversary of Disney’s streaming platform. In November of 2018, then-CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, announced that the new streaming service would be called “Disney+,” and that it would become available in late 2019.
The platform went live for the first time on November 12, 2019, and even before that, it already had millions of subscribers. Not surprisingly, the success of the only streaming platform to be all about the Mouse, his friends, the parks and more, has been amazing. In only 3 months’ time, the platform had more than 10 million subscribers. It is currently on track to eclipse Netflix in 2025.

Hamilton, Loki, Mulan, The Lion King, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, Soul, Cruella and PIXAR’s Forky Asks a Question are all highlighted within just the first 35 seconds of the trailer, and instead of them being just random clips from some of our favorite Disney+ offerings, the creative minds at Disney clipped parts of those offerings and pieced them together to tell the story of the first two years of the platform.
