Disney Dining Serving up the latest Disney Eats, Treats, News, and More!
Not long ago, one of Walt Disney World’s most highly anticipated restaurants finally opened: Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ debuted in March in Hollywood Studios’ Toy Story Land, and it’s been incredibly popular ever since.

The restaurant is highly themed inside, with adorable decor, fun food options, and fantastic ambiance. Everything about this restaurant is meant to make Guests feel as if they’re the size of a toy…including the pencil used to sign the check at the end of the meal.
This pencil is truly giant, at nearly 2 feet long, making Guests feel like one of Andy’s toys.
However, unruly Guest behavior has caused Walt Disney World Resort to make some changes to the Hollywood Studios restaurant…

In this video posted months ago, you can catch a glimpse of this giant pencil as the food reviewer signs the check.
But recently, Guests have reported receiving normal-sized pens once the check arrives, with no sign of the giant pencil. Apparently, when asked, Cast Members working at the theme park restaurant, they’ve revealed that the giant pencil has been stolen constantly.

As a result, this Disney Experience has changed, removing the giant pencil and only bringing out normal pens.
So, we had to put it to the test! One of our fabulous writers here at Disney Dining ventured to Hollywood Studios’ Roundup Rodeo BBQ to find out once and for all, and the results were…disappointing.

As we can see in these pictures and based on personal experience, the nearly 2-foot-long pencil is indeed gone.
Will the giant pencil ever return to Andy’s Backyard? Only time will tell, but at this point in time, it’s incredibly unlikely.
