Here’s What’s Coming to Disney+ This December

The holiday season is fast approaching, so get cozy, whip up some hot cocoa and practice your ho, ho, ho! The temperatures will soon be dropping, so it’s the perfect excuse to wrap yourself up in your favorite blanket and binge-watch all the great shows and movies that Disney+ has to offer. While there will be a number of great holiday movies to fill your nights, but there will also be numerous shows that will keep your TV-watching schedule full.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated news series that will be making its Disney+ debut in December is the new Star Wars series, The Book of Boba FettThe Book of Boba Fett will follow the infamous bounty hunter and Fennec Shand as they navigate the deep underworld of the galaxy. The two have returned from the desert planet of Tatooine and are working together to take territory once run by Jabba the Hutt.

Also in December, Disney’s newest animated movie, Encanto, will premiere on Christmas Eve. Encanto will first premiere in theaters on November 24 and will have a limited 30-day theatrical run. However, after its theatrical release, it will come to Disney+ just in time to watch with your family as they gather for the holidays! Encanto tells the story of Mirabel, the only woman in her family who was not blessed with some type of magical gift — which will play to her advantage as she tries to save their enchanted house.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The first book in Jeff Kinney’s worldwide bestselling series comes to Disney+ in the all-new animated adventure “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Greg Heffley is a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous – he just has to survive middle school first. To make matters worse, Greg’s lovable best friend Rowley seems to coast through life and succeed at everything without even trying! As details of his hilarious – and often disastrous – attempts to fit in fill the pages of his journal, Greg learns to appreciate true friends and the satisfaction that comes from standing up for what is right. Directed by Swinton Scott and written and produced by Jeff Kinney, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” features the voices of Brady Noon, Ethan William Childress and Chris Diamantopoulos.

Christmas Again

Ro isn’t handling her parents’ divorce well because she wants her life back the way it was—her parents back together, her dad’s new girlfriend and son out of the picture, and their family traditions to remain the same. After a disappointing celebration with her family, including her sister Gabriela “Gabby,” Abuela Sofia and Abuelo Hector, she makes a wish to a neighborhood Santa for a “do-over” and unexpectedly finds herself reliving Christmas day over and over … and over again. Now, in order to break the strange magical loop, Ro must learn to appreciate her loving family as it is, as well as the true meaning of Christmas.

Foodtastic (11 Eps)

“Foodtastic” is an immersive global competition series in which highly skilled artists create extravagant scene work and larger-than-life sculptures made entirely out of food. From vegetables and butter to fruit and cheese, these everyday items are transformed into works of art. Each episode is rooted in iconic Disney IP and the food-based builds are an extension of that world. “Foodtastic” is hosted by Emmy Award winner Keke Palmer (Disney+’s “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder”) with FLOUR SHOP founder Amirah Kassem and NYC’s City Cakes founder Chef Benny Rivera serving as food art experts.
