Lilo and Stitch is a beloved Walt Disney Feature Animation that, while not overwhelmingly successful at first, quickly became a fan-favorite and cult classic. This Disney movie deals with some of the heaviest topics, such as families being torn apart by death and circumstance.
In this film, there’s a subplot about Nani Pelekai struggling to care for her little sister, Lilo Pelekai. There’s a sizable age gap between the two sisters, with Nani being around 19 and Lilo being six.
After the tragic death of their parents, Nani becomes Lilo’s sole provider and guardian. As she struggles, a social worker named Cobra Bubbles puts extra pressure on Nani, telling her Lilo will be taken away if she cannot adequately care for her.
In the end, it turns out that Cobra Bubbles is a former CIA agent by complete coincidence. He uses this experience to secure Stitch’s place in Lilo and Nani’s family, saving the day. At the end of the film, Cobra Bubbles can even be seen at family events such as Lilo’s birthday and the family’s Thanksgiving.

Despite the pressure Cobra Bubbles may put onto Nani’s shoulders, he’s a beloved part of the film…Which is why it comes as a surprise to hear that Cobra Bubbles will not be appearing in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Lilo and Stitch.
Instead, the live-action adaptation will include Mrs. Kekoa, a new character played by Jolene Purdy, who will effectively replace the former CIA agent, Cobra Bubbles.
