Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is home to six different neighborhoods: Oasis, Discovery Island, Pandora – The World of Avatar, Africa, Asia, and DinoLand U.S.A.

Each of these different neighborhoods is entirely unique, with various attractions, offerings, and shopping areas.

While they all have their special place among Guests, one is living on borrowed time…

Unfortunately, DinoLand U.S.A. and everything in it is destined for extinction. In fact, it’s already begun.

One of the land’s signature attractions, the Primeval Whirl, was demolished and pronounced permanently closed in July 2020.

Then, a couple of years later, in 2022, it was announced during a D23 Expo event that the entire theme park area would eventually be torn down to make way for something new in the Disney Park.

Now, it’s only a matter of time before one of Walt Disney World’s most infamous rides is also demolished. We’re talking, of course, about DINOSAUR.

DINOSAUR is the star attraction of DinoLand U.S.A., and for good reason. For a non-roller coaster attraction, this ride is intense.

It’s almost entirely in the dark, with an ambiance that’ll make you feel like something is chasing you the entire time. Not to mention, the vast Carnotaurus animatronics are enough to scare anyone.

Not only that, but the ride vehicle is anything but calm. As Guests evade the meteor strikes and carnivorous dinosaurs, the ride vehicle takes them through rough twists and turns.

In short, this attraction is amazing. A dark ride that’ll make you scream like you’re on the Tower of Terror? It’s almost unheard of for a Disney Park!

Which is why it’s so crucial that this ride receives a refurbishment instead of extinction! A frightening Disney attraction with an original concept is a dying breed, an endangered species if you will.

DINOSAUR may very well be the last of its kind, and the day this attraction closes for good will be a sad one for fans everywhere.
