Journey into Imagination with Figment is a beloved attraction located at EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion in Walt Disney World. This whimsical ride takes guests on a unique journey through the power of imagination alongside Figment, a mischievous purple dragon. As guests board the ride vehicles, they are greeted by the catchy tune “One Little Spark,” setting the tone for the imaginative adventure that awaits.
Throughout the ride, Figment leads guests through various sensory labs, including touch, sight, sound, and smell, each showcasing the wonders of imagination in a playful and engaging way. One of the most memorable scenes is the “Smell Lab,” where guests are introduced to different scents that evoke childhood memories and encourage creative thinking.
This ride has immense sentimental value to many Disney fans. However, many do not feel that it has a place within EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort for much longer.

Is Figment Nearing Retirement?
The attraction emphasizes the importance of embracing creativity and seeing the world through a different lens. Figment serves as a symbol of the spark of inspiration that resides within each of us, urging guests to let their imaginations run wild and explore the limitless possibilities that creativity affords.
With its vibrant colors, whimsical characters, and engaging storyline, Journey into Imagination with Figment continues to captivate guests of all ages and inspire them to embrace their inner child. This timeless classic remains a staple of the Imagination Pavilion and a testament to the power of imagination in the magic of Walt Disney World.
However, there is no denying that Figment is not as popular with new and younger audiences as some other Disney franchises. Following the massive international success of the new Pixar film Inside Out 2, some fans are wondering if Journey Into Imagination with Figment could be a potential place for a new attraction.
Could ‘Inside Out’ Replace Figment?
For the past few weeks, Inside Out 2 has been a massive success for The Walt Disney Company. Disney previously said that they would be looking to successful films as inspiration for new theme park attractions, and with Inside Out 2 on its way to being the biggest film of the year, it seems like an obvious choice for a Disney themes ride.
In many ways, the theme of Inside Out would lend well to the imagination and whimsy that EPCOT provides. Unfortunately, Journey Into Imagination With Figment has been one of Disney’s least popular attractions, making it an easy target for a retheme.
Figment the idea is safe for sure, but Figment the ride I think has it's days numbered. It's a band-aide downgrade last minute low budget attraction overhaul thats been sitting half working for like 20 years.

While nothing has been confirmed, it does seem that fans could have big reasons to be worried. With Disney previously retheming attractions like Splash Mountain after popular new films, it is not out of the realm of possible that Figment’s attraction could have the same fate. What do you think?
