Guess the name of the new Animal Kingdom show to feature Nemo and Dory in 2022!

More news in from this weekend’s Destination D23 celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida!

We have learned that two of our fishy favorites, Nemo and Dory, will make a triumphant return in a brand-new show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, coming to the park in 2022!

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue . . . and Beyond! will debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom next year, and we couldn’t be more excited! Just a couple of months ago, we began to see Cast Member performers from Finding Nemo: The Musical telling each other goodbye via social media posts, only to find out the next day that the stage show was ending to make way for a newly-reimagined show in its place that would still feature friends from PIXAR’s Finding Nemo.

Today, at the Destination D23 celebration at Disney World, it was announced that Nemo would be returning, but he’s not the only one! Dory from PIXAR’s Finding Nemo and Finding Dory will also be a part of the new stage show at Animal Kingdom’s Theater in the Wild at Dinoland, U. S. A.

The new show, called Finding Nemo: The Big Blue . . . and Beyond! will feature both Dory and Nemo, as well as some of their underwater friends in an all-new adventure that takes place along the timeline of PIXAR’s Finding Dory.

Here are a few more things we know so far about the new stage show:

  • When Guests are seated, they’ll find themselves at the Marine Life Institute. At the beginning of the show, the audience catches up with some of the fish from Dr. P. Sherman’s office in Finding Nemo. Yep, they’ve made their way to California!
  • Many songs from the original Finding Nemo: The Musical show will be a part of the new show.
  • Finding Nemo: The Musical, which originally debuted in 2007, has been dark since Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that never reopened when the parks came back to life after a nearly four-month closure related to the pandemic.

We are so excited about the new show at Animal Kingdom, and we’re so glad it will still have a Finding Nemo theme to it!
