Since Frozen (2013) hit the theatres, fans fell in love with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and all their friends. The Walt Disney Company has capitalized on the popularity with merchandise, rides, a whole new land, and now even more movies featuring these beloved characters.

Frozen 3 was announced in February by Iger, but this is the first time we have heard about the possibility of Frozen 4. The announcement comes with a lot of questions and excitement from Frozen fans.
Frozen and Frozen II
In 2013, Elsa and Anna captured the hearts of viewers worldwide. The story, full of love, courage, and humor, quickly drew people in. The film quickly became among the highest-grossing animated movies ever (USA Today).
After years of asking, Frozen II (2019) finally arrived in the theatres again, bringing guests joy, excitement, and sorrow. The film once again was a box office hit, doing better than the original film.
On February 8, 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Frozen 3 was in the works. Not a lot of details have been released about the third film, making it a shock that Frozen 4 was confirmed by Iger.
Looking toward the new films, we hope to see the beloved voices of Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Josh Gad as Olaf, and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff. We also hope that the new films continue to bring the emotions and message of strength the previous two films have provided.
Grand Opening of World of Frozen
The announcement of the new Frozen movies comes at the same time as the grand opening of World of Frozen. This new land is found in Hong Kong Disneyland. The new land will officially open to guests on November 20, but select royal guests have already been able to experience the magic.
The land transports guests right into Arendelle. In the land, guests can enjoy the Frozen Ever After attraction, ride through the forest on Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and try delicious new food at Golden Crocus Inn.

During the celebration, Iger addressed how important the Frozen franchise has been for Disney and continues to be moving forward.
Bob shared, “The Frozen franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company. It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100.” Credit: Disney Parks Blog
Although it seems like Iger is announcing the fourth movie exceptionally early, we are thrilled to know more magic is coming our way from the Frozen franchise.
