Nearly six years ago, ABC Kids — a children’s channel in Australia — released a brand-new show from Ludo Studio, Bluey. Bluey told the story of an Australian Blue Heeler dog named Bluey and her family — her father, Bandit, her mother, Chilli, and her younger sister, Bingo.
Bluey and her family use their imagination in fun ways and go on so many adventures as a family. The show was an absolute hit, and in less than five years, Bluey was one of the most popular shows in the world.

In 2019, The Walt Disney Company obtained the exclusive rights to air Bluey on Disney Junior, and on Disney+ when it launched in November 2020.
On April 14, Disney+ dropped a special episode of Bluey that was nearly half an hour long! The average episode of Bluey is typically only about nine minutes long. The episode, called The Sign, featured Bluey and her family considering moving, so her dad could take a new job. Fans had hinted at and discussed the prospect of Bluey moving months ago.

“The Sign” was not only the longest episode of Bluey but also the most-watched episode ever!
With a running time of 28 minutes (about three times a typical episode’s length), the 10.4 million views for “The Sign” translates to about 291.2 million minutes of viewing across the globe. In just the United States, Bluey’s full, 150-episode library draws an average of 1.19 billion minutes of viewing per week, according to Nielsen’s streaming ratings — slightly under 8 million minutes per episode.
This episode of Bluey not only broke the show’s own watch record, but also the watch record of any Disney Junior show ever watched on Disney+! Bluey and the rest of the Heeler family can’t be stopped!
With the premiere of The Sign, and its preceding episode, Ghostbasket, many fans were worried that the show was coming to an end. But Disney and Ludo Studio allayed those fears with the release of a new episode, titled Surprise.
To the relief of Bluey fans around the world, producer Sam Moore confirmed that a fourth season was on the way. Moore said that it was “not the end” for Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli. He also promised the more surprises were on the way.
One of the things that makes Bluey so popular is its ability to discuss adult topics in a way that children can understand. In its three seasons, Bluey has discussed issues like death, infertility, and even miscarriages. However, the show did receive a lot of backlash when it appeared to have an episode that fat-shamed the characters.
All three seasons of Bluey are currently available to stream on Disney+. This includes The Sign, Ghostbasket, and Surprise.
