Fantasmic! A Disney World Staple

Right now, Walt Disney World Resort is the only place in the United States where Guests can watch Fantasmic. After a mechanical issue started a fire on the show’s Maleficent Dragon, the Disneyland Resort production has been closed. We now know that the show will not be returning to Disneyland any time soon.

For the lucky Fantasmic! fans who are able to catch the show in Orlando, there are some significant changes that you should know about. The show currently begins at 9 p.m., but that is about to change.

Start Time Changes for Fantasmic!

Beginning August 6, 2023, Fantasmic will begin performing at 9:30 p.m. This change will give Guests more time to explore the Resort before it’s time to sit down for the show. It also will help accommodate Guests who are looking to attend events like Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party.

Don’t be fooled; just because it’s a late show does not mean that seats won’t fill up quickly. If you want good seating in the amphitheater, you should head there early to snag one.

Fantasmic is truly such a special show. Disney describes it by saying;

“Featuring stunning effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music, this larger-than-life show is painted on a grand canvas of dancing water and light. Overflowing with silly and suspenseful surprises, it will leave your entire family smiling from ear-to-ear! Fast asleep, Mickey Mouse dreams that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains—including Maleficent in the form of a towering, 40-foot-tall dragon—turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare, but don’t underestimate the power of Mickey’s imagination!”

If you manage to watch this show soon, have fun and enjoy the Disney experience!
