‘Wednesday’ Fans Urged to Stream 5 Creepy Mysteries (With 1 Strict Rule)
A great mystery can be difficult to leave behind, especially when it comes wrapped in monsters, strange characters, dark comedy, and plenty of secrets.
That’s part of the challenge after watching Wednesday. The series doesn’t fit neatly into one category. It combines supernatural danger with teenage drama and detective work, all while centering on a main character who approaches nearly every situation differently from everyone else.
Finding an exact replacement isn’t realistic.
But if you’re searching for another show with at least some of those ingredients, there are several places to look. These five series offer different versions of the mystery, darkness, and weirdness that make Wednesday so easy to watch.
One, however, comes with a warning.
Dead Boy Detectives Gets Weird Quickly
Rating: TV-MA
If paranormal mysteries are what keep you watching Wednesday, Dead Boy Detectives wastes little time heading into supernatural territory.
Charles Rowland and Edwin Payne are teenage ghosts who solve unusual cases instead of moving on to the afterlife.
They aren’t working alone. Psychic Crystal Palace joins them as their investigations bring the group face-to-face with ghosts, demons, witches, monsters, and other strange threats.
That combination of mystery and supernatural danger gives the series an obvious connection to Wednesday. It also mixes its darker ideas with humor and unusual friendships rather than treating everything with complete seriousness.
Just keep the rating in mind. Dead Boy Detectives is TV-MA, making it a more mature choice than Wednesday.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Embraces the Darkness
Rating: TV-14
For more gothic surroundings and supernatural trouble, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina offers another strong option.
Sabrina Spellman is a teenager caught between her human life and supernatural heritage. That increasingly complicated existence introduces demons, dark magic, dangerous rituals, family secrets, and difficult relationships.
Sabrina isn’t Wednesday Addams, but there’s some familiar territory here.
Both teenagers enter strange supernatural communities filled with adults who expect them to behave in certain ways. Neither character is particularly interested in blindly accepting those expectations.
The show can also become considerably darker, making it a natural choice for viewers who enjoy the creepier side of Wednesday.

Goosebumps Keeps the Scares Lighter
Rating: TV-Y7
Not everyone looking for something spooky wants a darker series.
That’s where the original Goosebumps television show comes in.
The series ran from 1995 to 1998 and adapted stories based on R.L. Stine’s books. Monsters, haunted masks, evil puppets, bizarre creatures, and other childhood nightmares provide plenty of creepy situations.
Many episodes tell their own self-contained stories, which also makes Goosebumps different from the longer mysteries found elsewhere on this list.
Its TV-Y7 rating makes it the most family-friendly recommendation here. For someone who enjoys the spooky side of Wednesday more than its darker material, that’s part of the appeal.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Ditches the Monsters
Rating: TV-MA
Take away the supernatural elements of Wednesday, and there’s still an important piece left: the mystery.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder leans directly into that side.
Pip Fitz-Amobi starts investigating a murder-suicide case that her community already considers solved. She isn’t convinced the accepted story explains everything, so she starts digging for answers.
Naturally, she finds secrets along the way.
Pip and Wednesday approach their worlds differently, but they share an unwillingness to abandon a mystery simply because other people think they should.
There aren’t ghosts or supernatural powers here. Instead, viewers who enjoy watching Wednesday chase clues and question what she’s being told may find plenty to keep them interested.

Riverdale Comes With a Catch
Rating: TV-14
Finally, there’s Riverdale, and this recommendation needs one important warning.
Early Riverdale has many of the ingredients a Wednesday fan might want. There’s murder, teenage drama, suspicious adults, hidden secrets, and a community where almost everyone seems capable of hiding something.
Season 1 follows Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, and their classmates as Jason Blossom’s death exposes the town’s darker side. Season 2 continues much of that mystery-driven approach.
Then things change.
Later seasons introduce increasingly unusual twists, supernatural craziness, magical powers, and musical episodes. Some fans enjoy just how wild the series becomes.
But viewers specifically chasing the mystery-heavy appeal of Wednesday may prefer the first two seasons.
Consider that your warning.

Five Very Different Places to Start
There’s no perfect replacement for Wednesday, but each of these shows captures a different piece of its appeal.
Dead Boy Detectives delivers paranormal investigations, while Chilling Adventures of Sabrina embraces gothic supernatural drama. Goosebumps provides lighter scares, and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder puts investigation at the center.
And if you choose Riverdale, enjoy the early mysteries.
Just don’t say nobody warned you about what comes later.
