Disney World Confirms Hefty Prices Across Resorts for 2027 Holiday Season

A Christmas vacation at Walt Disney World might sound like the perfect way to celebrate the holidays, but families planning a trip in 2027 could face a hefty hotel bill before they even purchase theme park tickets.

Disney has officially made November and December 2027 available for resort reservations, and the prices show just how expensive staying on-property can be.

Depending on the hotel, a six-night vacation could cost anywhere from several hundred dollars to nearly $6,000. That’s a massive difference, especially for families already dealing with rising Disney vacation costs.

However, the latest booking information also reveals an unexpected detail about Thanksgiving and Christmas pricing that could surprise guests.

Disney Releases Holiday Reservations Following Price Increases

Disney expanded its reservation calendar on October 6, opening hotel bookings through the end of December 2027.

Previously, families could only reserve accommodations through October, meaning anyone hoping to visit during the final two months of the year had to wait.

The announcement gives guests more time to plan their holidays, but affordability remains a major concern.

Disney has already increased its highest single-day theme park admission price to $229 for certain dates in late 2027.

Add meals, Lightning Lane purchases, and accommodations, and a family vacation can quickly become a major financial commitment.

Fortunately, Disney’s different hotel categories give visitors some control over their spending.

How Much Will Disney’s Cheapest Hotels Cost?

Families watching their budgets will likely find the most appealing prices among Disney’s Value Resorts.

These hotels don’t offer as many amenities as higher-priced properties, but guests still receive complimentary transportation and Early Theme Park Entry.

For selected six-night reservations during November and December 2027, reported average nightly rates include:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort: $194
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort: $257.67
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: $300.67

Those differences become more noticeable when calculating an entire stay.

Six nights at All-Star Movies would total approximately $1,164, while the same number of nights at Art of Animation would reach about $1,804.

Families choosing All-Star Movies could save roughly $640 on accommodations alone.

There’s also The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, which had a reported nightly average of $116.50. However, these accommodations are campsites rather than regular hotel rooms.

For visitors who don’t need luxury accommodations, the less expensive options could make a substantial difference.

Spending More Doesn’t Always Mean Choosing Deluxe

Guests who want additional amenities without paying Disney’s highest hotel prices have another option.

Disney’s Moderate Resorts sit between the Value and Deluxe categories, offering a different balance of comfort and cost.

Properties in this group include Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and the Port Orleans resorts.

Among the published holiday booking examples, Coronado Springs averaged approximately $365.33 per night.

Over six nights, that works out to around $2,192.

While that’s considerably more than All-Star Movies, it remains below the rates reported for Disney’s Deluxe properties.

Of course, prices can vary depending on room selection, dates, and availability, so it’s important to compare prices before committing to a reservation.

Disney’s Most Expensive Resorts Carry Serious Costs

For families considering a Deluxe Resort, the holiday pricing examples paint a very different picture.

Three popular Disney hotels have reported average nightly rates approaching or exceeding several hundred dollars:

  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: $687
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn: $802.33
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: $972.67

At those prices, six nights at Wilderness Lodge would cost approximately $4,122. BoardWalk Inn would reach around $4,814, while Grand Floridian would climb to approximately $5,836.

These hotels offer conveniences that help explain their premium pricing.

Grand Floridian features monorail transportation to Magic Kingdom, while BoardWalk Inn allows guests to walk to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Wilderness Lodge provides a more secluded setting and boat service to Magic Kingdom.

Still, nearly $6,000 for accommodations alone could stretch many vacation budgets.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Prices Show a Surprising Pattern

Interestingly, the published hotel searches didn’t always show the price differences guests might expect between holiday periods.

Comparisons for November 9–15 and November 21–27, 2027, produced identical average nightly rates across the eight accommodations examined.

Selected reservations earlier and later in December also returned matching prices.

That means the particular searches didn’t show an increase simply because the dates fell closer to Thanksgiving or Christmas.

However, guests shouldn’t assume every resort will follow that pattern. The results apply only to the specific booking examples, and actual rates may vary.

What Should Guests Consider Before Booking?

With the remaining 2027 dates now available, families can review their hotel options well before the holidays.

Comparing different resort categories, exploring alternative dates, and keeping an eye out for discounts could help reduce expenses.

The biggest takeaway is that hotel selection matters. A Value Resort might leave considerably more room in the budget for meals and attractions, while a Deluxe stay could consume thousands before guests enter a park.

Disney World holiday vacations are officially available to book for 2027, but families should carefully consider what they’re getting for their money.
