Attention, fans of Seabrook High! After two years, Disney has finally announced the release date for the third movie in its incredibly popular Zombies musical franchise — Z3. Fans of Zombies films are used to seeing things like werewolves, cheerleaders, and (obviously) zombies wander the halls of Seabrook High. However, this third film will throw another paranormal species into the mix — aliens.
Z3 will actually have 2 different premieres, one on Disney+ and one on the Disney Channel. Z3 will premiere on Disney+ on July 15. Less than one month later, a special edition of the film will air on Disney Channel — on August 12. The special edition will include a number of things not seen in the Disney+ premiere, including new scenes and a new musical track.
Collider shared more information on the new Zombie film, saying:
Zombies 3 sees DGA Award-winner and franchise director Paul Hoen back in the saddle, continuing the story of Zed (Mannheim) and Addison (Donnelly) as they enter their senior year of high school at Seabrook High. Since the first film, the once human-exclusive town of Seabrook has become a safe haven and melting pot for humans and monsters. Zed hopes to make history as the first zombie to ever attend college with the help of an athletic scholarship just as Addison is prepping for the first international cheer-off in Seabrook’s history. The friendly competitions come to a halt with the arrival of aliens, threatening the peaceful town once more.
Zombies 3 will see the return of a number of the film’s stars in addition to Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly, including Chandler Kinney as Willa, Ariel Martin as Wynter, Pearce Joza as Wyatt, Carla Jeffery as Bree, Trevor Tordjman as Bucky, Kylee Russell as Eliza, James Godfrey as Bonzo, and Kingston Foster as Zoey. In addition to the familiar cast, Zombies 3 will also see drag queen icon RuPaul come onto the scene. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Drag Race host will voice the passive-aggressive UFO, Mothership, that brings the aliens to Earth.
Disney released a teaser trailer for the new film, and you can watch it below:
Both Zombies and Zombies 2 are currently available to stream on Disney+, as is season one of the animated series Zombies: Addison’s Moonstone Mystery. When it is released on Disney+ on July 15, Zombies 3 will be available to all subscribers. Premier Access will not be required to watch the film.
