Motherhood at a theme park can be a difficult thing to battle, especially if you have young children who are still breastfeeding. Walt Disney World Resort does its best to make breastfeeding a convenient and accommodating experience for nursing mothers.

With designated nursing rooms and baby care centers located throughout the park, mothers can comfortably breastfeed their babies in a quiet and private space. These facilities are equipped with comfortable seating, changing tables, and even microwaves to warm up bottles or baby food.

However, some mothers do not want to sacrifice park time for anything, even breastfeeding. With Disney theme park vacations often costing thousands of dollars, every moment counts for many guests.

Mom Saves Time by Breastfeeding in Public

The Baby Care Centers at Walt Disney World Resort offer a variety of amenities for nursing mothers, including private nursing rooms with comfortable rocking chairs and low lighting to promote relaxation. These centers also provide a quiet environment for mothers to nurse or pump, ensuring a peaceful experience for both the mother and baby.

In addition, the centers are stocked with baby supplies and essentials for purchase, making it convenient for mothers in need of any last-minute items for their little ones. While these centers do offer an invaluable quiet and clean space for parents to care for their children, it does not always accommodate parents who yearn to be on the go at Disney parks.

According to a witness, one mother at Disney decided to take motherhood on the move and breastfeed her child while walking through the parks. This decision certainly raised some eyebrows from guests who questioned the decision. The witness reports:

“Saw a woman walking around Tomorrowland hand pumping her breast milk with tits out and shirt down. She wasn’t hiding any of it nor was she sitting down and resting. Like “times a wastin… I’m at Disney… shits happening without me… gotta go!”

Is Breastfeeding at Disney Appropriate?

This incident lends itself to a much bigger conversation regarding what spaces are appropriate for these kinds of maternal acts. More and more, people are accepting breastfeeding as a public act and pushing back on the stigma against this action. Disney supports this action by having a policy that allows guests to breastfeed openly wherever they please in the parks.

While this incident may have raised some eyebrows, it also reminded many guests of the reality of being a mother at a place like Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort. Many guests support this kind of behavior and commend mothers for their courage and stamina. What do you think?
