It’s official: Avatar will be coming to Disneyland Park. Fans of Pandora were overjoyed to hear this news when Disney CEO Bob Iger announced it on Wednesday. The franchise’s second movie, Avatar: The Way of Water, directed by James Cameron, has been a massive box office success. Adding more Avatar to the parks is an apparent decision, but now fans are left to speculate where this new experience could be located.

‘Avatar’ Is Coming to Disneyland… But Where?

CEO Bob Iger shared this exciting news during the investor call that happened on Wednesday, February 10. On the call, Iger explained, “I’m thrilled to announce that we will be bringing an excellent Avatar experience to Disneyland. We’ll be sharing more details on that very soon.”

Immediately after this announcement, fans were sent into a tizzy about the details of this new experience, like what it could be and where it could be located within Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Iger specifically called it an “Avatar experience”, not a ride, attraction, or land. Fans are unsure of what exactly this could entail. With no further comments being made about the experience, fans online have began to speculate where it could be located.

The World of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World is incredible and tough to compete with. Fans are confused about how Disneyland could create something of that caliber in Disneyland.

Fans Speculate the Location of the ‘Avatar Experience’

Because Iger didn’t mention Avatar land, the public consensus is that the new experience will probably be something put into an underutilized space. Disneys Animal Kingdom Park has rides like Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage, but those rides require a lot of space that Disneyland doesn’t necessarily have.

Currently, Shanghai Disneyland has a traveling Avatar exhibit that is a walk-through that showcases exotic creatures and items from Pandora. This could definitely be what Iger was referring to; a walk-through experience showing artifacts from Pandora. This kind of attraction could easily be put into a place like the vacant Carousel Theatre in Tomorrowland or the old ESPN zone.

Some fans are still hoping for an attraction or land. Disneyland Resort is incredibly limited on space unlil the Disneyland Forward project is approved by the city of Anaheim. This means that if a new land or attraction were coming soon, it would have to replace something. @DisneySpacePod mentions replacing Jungle Cruise.

Bob Iger shocked fans with the announcement that an “Avatar experience” would be coming to the parks… now fans are speculating where it will be located.

Hopefully, we will know more about this new Avatar experience soon. Until then, we will all have to continue speculating on what Disney has planned for us all.
