If you’re like me, then one of the best parts about planning a Disney vacation is picking out all the amazing places you will eat while you’re on your trip and planning your meals. That’s truly one of the things that sets Disney apart from other theme parks. Disney parks and restaurants have some truly amazing dining options. Everything from snacks to quick bites and fancy meals has that special Disney magic that just sets it apart from the rest.

However, not every dish created by Disney is a hit. And some of them are things you would never think of, and they divide the Disney community.

Here are some of the weirdest food and drinks that we have seen served at Disney parks and resorts. Bon appétit!

Squid’s Revenge Cocktail

Despite Walt Disney’s desire to keep his theme parks dry, Disney has become known for serving some truly unique and delicious cocktails. However, one specialty cocktail served during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary made us do a double take.

Over at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom, they served the Squid’s Revenge Cocktail. And this wasn’t your everyday cocktail with fancy liquors in it. Squid’s Revenge was actually served with a tentacle sticking out of it! Squid’s Revenge was a Michelada — a Mexican Bloody Mary served with beer — and it was topped with a piece of charred octopus and cucumber.

Weird doesn’t really even begin to describe it.

PB&J Mac & Cheese

One of the things that sets Disney apart from so many other theme parks is the quality and variety of food they serve. Whether you are eating at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland, or Disneyland Paris, you will surely find something you love. Each resort and theme park has its own unique dining options and signature dishes.

Unfortunately, not every dish is a winner. And that was certainly the case with one of Disney’s weirdest and most divisive dishes ever. We are talking about the Peanut Butter & Jelly Macaroni & Cheese, which was served at the 2022 Food & Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure.

The PB&J Mac and Cheese was traditional macaroni and cheese mixed with peanut butter. It was then topped with a jelly drizzle, brown sugar streusel, and strawberry Pop Rocks candy.

Now, if they had just put peanut butter on it, it could have had a sort of Pad Thai thing going on. However, adding the jelly, brown sugar, and Pop Rocks took this dish in a direction we didn’t need. To be totally honest, this is definitely a dish Disney does not need to revisit in the future.

Frozen Guacamole

The 2022 DCA Food & Wine Festival was definitely an interesting year. As you read above, that was the year of the PB&J Mac and Cheese. But it was also the year of Frozen Guacamole on a stick.

Thankfully, the Frozen Guacamole was surprisingly good! It sounds weird, but it actually worked in some strange way.

The Frozen Guacamole was basically avocado ice cream. It was soft and creamy and melted in your mouth. The avocado popsicle was topped with pico de gallo — which is tomato, onion, cilantro, and lime — and lime crema. There is also the surprise addition of crushed-up corn chips. It all worked really well together.

But that certainly doesn’t mean that it wasn’t weird.

Pickle Milkshake

This is another dish that wildly divided fans when they read about it, as well as those who visited Walt Disney World Resort to try it. The Pickle Milkshake debuted at the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and was instantly the only thing people could discuss.

We heard you love pickles 🥒 and also love shakes🎵 #Disney #DisneyParks #DisneyWorld #EPCOT #FoodAndWine #Pickles #Milkshake #FoodTok #DisneyEats

The Pickle Milkshake was largely reminiscent of drinking pickle juice from the jar. But, instead of drinking pickle water, it is like drinking rich and creamy pickle juice. However, the flavor of dill was almost too present and could have been toned down a little.

Whether you loved the pickle milkshake or hated it, you can’t say it wasn’t interesting!

Blue Shrimp

In 2022, Disney tried to capitalize on its fans’ love of Star Wars and opened the Galactic Starcruiser in Walt Disney World. The 2-day experience completely immersed guests in the Star Wars universe. Guests only left the Starcruiser when they were taken to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Sadly, the Starcruiser was an epic failure. Just two nights cost a minimum of almost $5,000. The Starcruiser shut down less than two years after it opened.

Despite its failure, those who could afford to stay on the Starcruiser said that it was an absolutely incredible experience. One of the things they raved about was the unique food. And nothing was more unique than the Blue Shrimp.

The Blue Shrimp was available for guests who dined at the Crown of Corellia Dining Room, as part of the “Taste Around the Galaxy” meal. The Iced Blue Felucian Shrimp Cocktail tasted like a semi-traditional shrimp cocktail, but the shrimp had been dyed blue by soaking the shrimp in a butterfly pea powder solution.

The Starcruiser may be closed, but the legend of the blue shrimp will live on forever.

Pickle Corn Dog

Who knew there were so many interesting things to do with pickles? But leave it to Disney to find fascinating and yummy ways to use the delightfully salty snack.

When you say the words “pickle corn dog”, you are sure to get an immediate reaction — but you don’t know what it will be. There will be those who will cringe, those who will be intrigued, and those who will instantly want to try one.

The pickle corn dog can be found at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs takes a large dill pickle, hollows it out, stuffs it with a hot dog, covers it in delicious batter and panko breadcrumbs, and deep-fries it to perfection. It is served with a side of peanut butter, but you really don’t need it.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs also serves a traditional corn dog, along with a specialty corn dog that will change regularly.

Ice Cream With BUGS

There are so many places in a Disney theme park to get a sweet treat, and there is no sweeter treat than ice cream! And if you want good and interesting ice cream, you’ll want to head to Salt & Straw. Salt & Straw is located in Downtown Disney at Disneyland and Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. Salt & Straw’s homemade ice cream comes in more traditional flavors, but also makes flavors you won’t find anywhere else.

Without a doubt, one of the strangest flavors ever created at Salt & Straw debuted for the Halloween 2023 season. Don Bugito’s Creepy Crawly Critters was made of green matcha ice cream that contained bugs. Yes, actual bugs! The ice cream contained chocolate crickets and toffee-brittle mealworms. When have you ever heard of that?!

Pulled Pork Jelly Doughnut Sandwich

Sweet and salty is a classic combination that is absolutely delicious! But you really need to be an adventurous eater if you want to try the Pulled Pork – Jelly Doughnut Sandwich at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Eight Spoon Café is located on Discovery Island and offers mouthwatering options like a pork tamale and pulled pork street tacos. But they also serve the pulled pork – jelly doughnut sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like. Traditional pulled pork is put into a jelly doughnut sandwich. There is also coleslaw in the sandwich to add a fresh element.

Now, we love pulled pork, and we love jelly doughnuts. But never would we have thought of putting them together to make a sandwich!

Poop Candy

The poop candy was a short-lived, but memorable, thing that happened at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Guests could head to Zuri’s Sweet Shop and purchase candy that looked like it was giraffe poop, hippo poop, elephant poop, or the poop from a Cotton-Topped Tamarin monkey.

The giraffe poop was a fudge brownie and caramel rolled into small balls, while the elephant poop was chocolate and peanut butter fudge rolled with oats and yellow coconut flakes. The Cotton-Top Tamarin poop was made of pretzel pieces covered in chocolate peanut butter fudge rolled in sweetened oats. The hippo poop was made of a chocolate fudge caramel brownie, combined with peanut butter and rolled oats.

Unfortunately, the poop candy did not last long. After just two weeks, Disney pulled the sweet treat from the shelves because they reportedly received a lot of complaints from guests.

The poop candy may be gone, but it will live on in our hearts.

Can You Still Get Any of These Dishes?

The short answer is yes! Although most of them are no longer available, there are still a couple that you can purchase at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

The Pickle Corn Dog can be found at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in the Downtown District at Disneyland. But soon, you’ll also be able to get them at the BoardWalk in Walt Disney World! That’s right, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is expanding to the East Coast. The mouthwatering kiosk is set to open sometime in 2024.

You can also still head to Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World to purchase the Pulled Pork – Jelly Doughnut Sandwich at Eight Spoon Café. This dish is so strange and so many people still talk about it that it probably isn’t going anywhere.

And these are some of the strangest dishes we have ever seen served in a Disney theme park or at a Disney resort hotel. They might be strange, but that didn’t stop many of them from being absolutely delicious!
